Wow. Just wow. £349 for PS4 is a HUGE kick in the nuts for Microsoft. You'd have to be clinically insane to buy an Xbone. The PS4 is faster, smaller, it's got better (in my opinion) exclusives, if you're a PS+ subscriber you get Drive Club and 3 indie games out of the box on day one. If you're not a PS+ subscriber then it's an extra £5 onto the initial expense if you so wish -no doubt retailers will be bundling that in at launch, you don't need a subscription to access all the features aside from 'premium' multiplayer experiences (whatever that means) and cloudsaves/gaming (understandable considering the infrastructure costs), no used game DRM, no online activations, no need to be online - at all. Where are the downsides? I just can't see any catches. Well played Sony, you've won back another customer.

Yeah, Sony made up all the lost ground from this Gen in a single announcement.

The only downside is the online pass for some games but other than that, Sony has a lot more to offer. Xbox is done for, period. Game over man! Game over! Xbox has lost before it even started. Good bye Xbox, your first console was awesome, you second console was meh.

I still love the 360.
I'm REALLY disappointed that Killer Instinct is XBOX One Exclusive but when Microsoft dumps all it's developers and leaves the console race I'm sure KI will end up on PS4.

No IMPOSED used game DRM. Sony still stated a few weeks ago that they are leaving that up to the publishers. Yea. I fully expect used games from certain major publishers to have some sort of DRM scheme. Will be glad if I am wrong. We shall see.

Wanting a cut of used game sales is something we've known publishers were after for awhile. Really, that started with games on PS3/360 already with the online passes, so it is really nothing new and more or less to be expected. But the console itself not forcing DRM (or constant online access) does something very important, it sets precedent. Which is great. Microsoft's shady policies don't get to become the norm now. Maybe that will change in the future, but for now, Sony has more or less saved the console market from taking a massive step in the "screw the consumer" direction. Not that that is going to stop the average buyer or random CoD gamer from just buying the new Xbox because they had a 360 and don't want to buy foreign, but it will definitely open the eyes of people that do the research and see how much of a joke Mircosoft's machine is.
