No score improvement today but I did have 79 Chain on stage 1 - chained every enemy through the midboss - not sure how to continue it through him.

Chaining his fire-breath will give you big boosts to the chain. You have to wait a second or so when he starts it, then hit it with the orb, grab the orb, repeat two more times. Shoot him a bit while he shoots some bullets, then he'll go back to the fire-breath; chain it like the first three times again, then the second time hit it with the orb almost immediately after he starts the attack. The chain will hit him and should seal him also. Makes for a good battering ram after, but you can also just throw him off screen for a giant point bubble.

EDIT: Just realized that you might have already known all that, considering i usually only get a 70-something chain by that point. I don't think you really can chain through the entire stage, or at least, I don't think you're supposed to.

... nail him with 1 charge shot, and 2 tornado shots. He'll do three more firebreaths before taking off; make sure the last firebreath chain incorporates him. Chaining the rest of the level should be cake.

I'm not doing the 1 charge/2 tornado thing, but I do chain all 6 of his breaths and the last one does incorporate him and he becomes the chain (he's now in the bubble) but the chain is dead.

I wonder if what yr saying is with the 1 charge/2 tornado makes him weak enough that when the chain hits him he dies instead of bubbles? I'll try that out...

Also, not sure if this has been said or not - for those who don't know, you can take the weapons from the first boss, "B" to grab and then throw, do it with both of them and then back up.

I wonder, when the big dog comes out and he grabs it to use it as his new weapon - can you grab that I wonder? Timing would have to be tight.

Grabbing the weapon is 10K and hitting him w/it is another 10K I think, so do that twice for an easy 40K, plus it helps yr tech bonus score.

I wonder, when the big dog comes out and he grabs it to use it as his new weapon - can you grab that I wonder? Timing would have to be tight.

Do you mean the mid-boss dragons that fly up behind the boss? They come out after one of his weapons are destroyed, and grabs it as a weapon after it flies off. I would assume they work the same way as the other weapons. If you kill them before they fly off the screen, though, it gives you 50K.

Well I just snagged a Saturn copy on eBay for a fairish price (yay?). I'll give it a go hopefully early next week.

I'll be firing this up again this weekend and now that I understand chaining all that much more and getting used to canceling the octopus tentacles, I feel like I should have some significant improvement.
