3DS - Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Dang it, I said I wasn't going to get it but then I find out that they're bringing back the island. Well, I'm sold. Anyone else got it pre-ordered?

I never really got into these games. Are they that fun? I figured that if I do get it I would probably go digital. Because swapping carts every day to play it for a short time seems like a nuisance.

Animal Crossing games are kind of hard to recommend. Yes, they're fun but that depends on how much you enjoy life-sim games. I'd say if you've played and enjoyed something like a Harvest Moon title you would like Animal Crossing.

Although where Harvest Moon's focus is on farming and becoming filthy rich, Animal Crossing is about interaction with the other villagers, going fishing, bug collecting, buying furniture, expanding your home, and improving your town.

If you were going to try out Animal Crossing, New Leaf would be the best place to start. It has more content than any other title in the series and seems to offer more to do than past entries.

The Animal Crossing LE? I wasn't a big fan of that one. But if they brought the Luigi or black MH4 XL here I would consider replacing my Pikachu XL (can sell for profit).

I really don't know if I could get into these games. Maybe if it comes up in a sale later this year I'll try it out.

Probably yeah. I don't mind it, even if it looks kinda like a pop tart.

Truth be told I'm getting that one simply because it's the cheapest, easiest way to get a system+the game.

This maybe my first Animal Crossing game. I've always been interested in the series, because I'm into "life sim games" and collecting stuff in games. There was just always something better out at the time that I was already investing my time into.

Picking up a 3DS XL this year for Pokemon X & Y, and want to add more games to my library, so this will be one.

Oh man you'll love AC then I think. Collecting furniture and stuff is pretty much the meat of the game. :)

I've actually never watched too much gameplay footage. I've seen a little guy fishing and stuff. Can't you collect little knickknacks, trophies, etc? If so, I'm so getting into this series. I always loved stuff like the trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
