Not as good. THE OTHER GUYS guys made a parody of dumb buddy cop movies. THE HEAT is just a dumb buddy cop movie.Ack wrote: Ah, but how does it compare to The Other Guys?
What was the last movie you've seen?

Finally saw it, liked it and cannot wait for the sequel:

Rewatched this, though this is the first time since I've read the book:

Just saw this today:

Liked it. It had a very Saturday-morning vibe to it.

Cool. That makes me want to see it more. Sometimes you're in the mood for a serious movie (Batman Year One), but other times you want a cartoon (Teen Titans: Trouble In Tokyo). The difference is in the tone and how seriously the story takes itself.REPO Man wrote:It had a very Saturday-morning vibe to it.

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

That gives me the opposite reaction. I don't want a kiddie version of Superman, I want a serious take. And I know most people are gonna say, "But Superman is a kids character." In some cases, yes, but in the source material, no. Most comics (including Superman comics) are written for an adult audience, and it's been that way for the last couple of decades.Retrodude wrote:Cool. That makes me want to see it more. I have it on my Netflix list, but this news has me not expecting much from it.

FYI, The Mel Brooks Blu Ray Collection (9 films and extras) is only $24 on Amazon today. A must buy if you don't have it.
