I'm open to suggestion. The problem I had with it is making a special edition label that looked good. It didn't seem to work as good as the SNES label did, and no one had any input for it. But what game would you like to see done?CFFJR wrote:Soooo, Ziggy.
Howzabout a Genesis repro this year? Eh? Eh?
I was thinking the same thing when fastbilly mentioned he knew some one that could etch glass. I was thinking the same kind of glass as that!CFFJR wrote:Maybe a Racketboy Pub glass? [...] I've always liked Pub glasses.
I'm definitely doing a repro, possibly two. I'm definitely gonna do coffee mugs, unless nothing turns out good. And I definitely wanna give T-shirts a try. Maybe I could tackle those things and Fast can tackle sandblasting and/or laser etching.
Fast... what say you to that?

I am curious to see what everyone's thoughts are on this idea... or what are the other ideas for who the charity is for this year?...8bit wrote:On a side note I'd like to nominate Breetai's daughter as the recipient of this years donationauction. Maybe in the form of a college fund or something comparably meaningful...

The Cheslock's were overwhelmed with last year's gift and were very appreciative. I still keep in touch with Blake's Mother, who is still grieving. I'd be fine with having the Cheslock's be the recipient again, as the money went straight into a trust fund for Hinnako.

Oh I didn't remember that Hinnako was the recipient last year... I thought it was another deserving family. In that case maybe we should continue to spread the love to other family or organization. Sorry for my confusion.Luke wrote:The Cheslock's were overwhelmed with last year's gift and were very appreciative. I still keep in touch with Blake's Mother, who is still grieving. I believe a poll for recipient, as we've done previously, would make the most sense.

I'm down for the Hinako (one "n") trust fund. I thought last year was for some other family.

So I PM'ed EllertMichael last night and he already got beck to me. We can work something out for the T-Shirts. So it looks like we're gonna have T-Shirts in this year's charity auction!
How many do you guys think we should get made up (taking supply and demand into consideration)? The less shirts, the more money they'd raise. The more shirts, the potentially less money they'd raise, but the less sore losers there would be. Is 12 too many? Is 6 too little?
As for coffee mugs, the eBay seller provided the size requirements for the artwork so I was playing around with a design in Photoshop. This seller offers only white mugs, but I was playing around with a black background as well in case I find some one that can do black coffee mugs. I think a black mug is more attractive than a plain white one.
White mug:

Black mug:

You'll have to imagine it wrapped around a mug. You can right-click and select View Image for a larger view.
I made it so that each side will have the logo. Where the "1 of 3" is will be exact opposite of the mug's handle. I think the colors looked good on white, but I didn't think the blue looked as good against black. That's why on the black one the two sides are different, so we can see how they look.
Is the design too boring? Unlike the T-shirt, the cost wont vary between how simple or complex the design is. Is this too simple? This is how I have it on the cart labels, and I'm not sure if we should deviate from that too much. Although, it wouldn't be the worst if they don't match the cart labels, but I would at least like the shirts and mugs to match.
edit: Maybe this on the white mug?
