My Model 2 Sega CD finally arrived to go with my Model 2 Genesis. I have two games for it right now, a pristine copy of Shining Force CD, and a scratched up copy of Sonic CD. In both cases, I've found that the CD Audio frequently has problems playing. It's most evident in Shining Force CD, as there is a different track for the map screen, the player attacking screen, and the enemy attacking screen. Sometimes the audio comes up properly, other times it comes in delayed, or not at all.
I've already tried cleaning the laser with some isopropyl alcohol, as well as opening it up and reseating the CD ribbon cable. I don't have any compressed air on hand, or I would have tried that.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
