GBA Recommendations

So, I got a GBA a little while ago. Woot. Undoubtedly I think it's worth it, I got a practically brand new one for like $70, the model with the brighter screen.

Thing is, I really just bought it for the Castlevania games. And asides from a couple other games that seem interesting I'm looking for some suggestions to widen my collection.

So I obviously really enjoy the Castlevania games, and have already bought all three. I also bought Metroid Zero Mission and plan on trying that and Fusion out. Other games I plan to play are Super Mario World, Link to the Past, the Breath of Fire games, and the Golden Sun games.

Hopefully that helps give a good taste of what kinda stuff I'm into. I primarily like RPG's, games with good stories, games with deep gameplay n' such.

The Shaman series might be worth checking out if you are into Castlevania. Very similar.

Also don't miss out on Fire Emblem 1 & 2 and Advance Wars. There are also a bunch of early Final Fantasy ports with some nice extras on the GBA too.

I am actually collecting GBA RPG's right now, so I am hunting down everything and using a Game Cube GB Player and a sweet DS Lite that i grabbed for $30 to play them on. Waiting for a nice deal on a GBA SP 101 to show up too.

the golden sun games were my very first traditional RPG's as a kid (if you don't count Pokemon red and blue) such nostalgia with these games, shame that these are the only games that dont emulate well on the PSP. Really its the only reason I havn't sold off my GBA.

Sabrewulf - Puzzle platformer - one of the best games on the system bar none.
Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls - JRPG - FF1 and 2 with updated graphics, and extras. Though easier than their originals.
Baldurs Gate - ARPG - More Gauntlet than its PC counter part, still awesme
Car Battler Joe - mixed - Think Pokemon like RPG meets Twisted Metal
CIMA The Enemy - ARPG - A very interesting isometric adventure, kinda like Soma Bringer and Boktai.
Boktai - Action - You have to go outside, but one of the most creative portable games ever made.
Chu Chu Rocket - Puzzle Arcade - simply awesome
Tactics Ogre - SRPG - What Final Fantasy Tactics wants to be...

Educate yourself on how to spot fake carts. There are a lot of them around for the GBA and they are very convincing.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor is my favorite action game on the system. Made by Treasure! Also check out Gunstar Super Heroes and Guardian Heroes Advance.
Drill Dozer is a unique, nicely polished sidescroller from Game Freak.
Mega Man Zero is a fun series but if you have a DS just pickup the collection.
Double Dragon Advance is a fantastic beat'em up and possibly the best Double Dragon.
The Klonoa games are fun, puzzly platformers but not as good as the original Playstation and PS2 games.
The Sonic Advance trilogy are some of the best Sonic titles since the Genesis era.

Educate yourself on how to spot fake carts. There are a lot of them around for the GBA and they are very convincing.

This is very important. Fake games pop up all the time on eBay, especially from the Final Fantasy, Super Mario Advance, and Pokemon series. Here is a useful guide to help you spot fakes.

Other than that, there are a ton of good SNES games that made their way to the GBA. I just picked up Super Ghouls N Ghosts, and it plays exactly the same. Tons of RPGs, platformers, sports titles, and lots of unique stuff like WarioWare Twisted.

Europe is full of them too, even with fake boxes and manuals, so don't just be suspicious of the usual fake sources.

Doesn't exactly go with your taste from what you've described, but if you want to switch it up, Pokemon Pinball is pretty baller.
