Re: What are you playing?
I'm working through Hotline Miami (I'm late to the party, I know). It's super fun, I love the visual style, and the music is way too good for 16-bit graphics. I don't even care that it's so difficult that I die 30 times before I win every level.

I played Bioshock Infinite for around four straight hours yesterday.
But for some reason when I select continue, I lost all that progress.

If that happened to me, I'd be like this the rest of the dayLuke wrote:I played Bioshock Infinite for around four straight hours yesterday.

I believe Continue means to pick up from point of defeat, not "quit and return to start"

I'm past the point of getting pissed at video games. But safe to say I'm really disappointed and although I want to beat the game, it might go on the back burner for now.ExedExes wrote:If that happened to me, I'd be like this the rest of the dayLuke wrote:I played Bioshock Infinite for around four straight hours yesterday.

Re: What are you playing?
Finally finished up my Borderlands plat, so I think my next game will be....Final Fantasy 7. I started up a new game about two years ago but quit playing at the Corel prison part (I played through the whole game back in '97). It just seems like as I get older, RPG's require so much time and hard for me to keep interest anymore.
I did download Chrono Trigger (never played it) and was planning on playing that instead. I just can't get over the anime style of the game (FF7 isn't that much better I guess). I know the game is legendary, so I will have to come back to it at some point.

Did you figure out why that happened? Some sort of bug? I'm playing on PC and there is not an option to save, you just have to rely on checkpoints ... really don't want this happening to me.Luke wrote:I'm past the point of getting pissed at video games. I have no clue buddy. And apparently this has happened to a few of my friends too.Stark wrote: Did you figure out why that happened? Some sort of bug? I'm playing on PC and there is not an option to save, you just have to rely on checkpoints ... really don't want this happening to me.
I checked the game manual...nada. I flipping hate manuals these days. Pointless.
Not going to check online besides this forum, as spoilering this game seems to be the trend.
My system clock is up to date, but all the "save" spots ALL read November 22, 2005.
This all makes me, well, sad actually. I've never played a game quite like this and I'd like to finish it. I'm not kidding; I have to take breaks from the game because it overwhelms me. I know it sounds odd, and probably a tad weird, but the game gets to me on some level I didn't know existed.
My character need money, and there it is free for the taking. But it is on a church floor. Surely it isn't right to steal from church. Whether my decisions in the game make an impact or not, but I get a very heavy sense of "That's not the right thing to do" while playing.
I'll post a solution to the save issue I'm having if I find one. But an autosave should be just that. Or at least have a save option or explain how saving works in the manual.
That's my only gripe with the game, but it's a pretty huge gripe.

Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!

Yeah I had that a little while ago too actually. It was really early on, so you've probably been there, but I'll spoiler it anyway.Luke wrote:My character needs money, and there it is free for the taking. But it is on a church floor. In Willy Beamish, I'd steal my Sister's diary. In Zelda I had no problems wrecking a garden for rupees. In Fable I'd walk around farting on people.Stark wrote: Yeah I had that a little while ago too actually. It was really early on, so you've probably been there, but I'll spoiler it anyway.
For some reason, there is something about Infinite that makes me want to do the right thing every time, no matter what impact it has on the game.
And I don't think it's because I've been in retro land, I genuinely think Bioshock Infinite is a mind bending experience. From the first second of the game I was enthralled.
Now if only I can get back to where I was in the game
