That's my real beef with the 4D. The bulb it uses. But it is still bright though and does exactly what it does. I do like that they give you an extra one right in the screw cap.

Dudes screw flashlights now?
That has to be worse than not being able to commit suicide. "I'mma gonna close my eyes and screw this flashlight because I'mma no a gooda ata talkin to ladies".
Pathetic beyond belief.
edit* I have no clue why my pathetic dude sounds Italian.

My favorite flashlight:

My craftsman C3 is a badass flashlight that uses the same rechargeable battery as my craftsman drill. This baby is bright enough to Illuminate the whole campsite, and the battery stays charged for a long time.
I often pass right by my maglite in favor of my C3.

I carried a Gerber Infinity Ultra Task Light 22-80010 for many years until the o-ring around the battery broke and I did not realize it until after it had expanded enough break. It was a great flashlight for the seven years I carried it - though at the end of its life it got to be a bit dim.
Now I have a Cree 7w that is a backup softlight for me aswell. It takes 4 AAAs and is super bright - 300 lumens of White LED with only 4 points of Green. I also have several maglights but dislike them for different reasons, though the 4D Maglight is a backup nightstick...
I have always loved pistol grip spotlights and have had three. Two no names and a Stanley, all one million candlepower or above. They are just alot of fun and can be really handy in certain situations. I used my old two after Hurricanes and Tornado's ravaged areas.
My absolute favorite is the one my grandfather use to carry all the time. A duracell durabeam:

Everytime I find them I buy them, and sadly only have 3. One lives in my car, another at my workbench. Eventually I will add an LED light to one.

Re: What Flashlight do you like to use?
There is a chain on the East coast called Batteries Plus (I am unsure of they are in Midland and West coast). I use to go weekly, but now there is not one easily accessible for me. I would go just for Duracell Procell batteries, which are the best AAs and 9vs in the world. While there once the guy saw my Gerber flashlight in my pocket and asked me what I thought about it. I told him it was soso but it was a gift so I use it. He told me when I wanted to growup in the flashlight world I should go for a bigger one. The next half hour was spent as he explained the different power draw of different flashlights and what his five favorites were. I am not that fanatical, but have a few things I like and like to spread the word on them.
Re: What Flashlight do you like to use?
I just like the Maglite because the four D batteries seem to last forever. I think I still have the (used) batteries that came in mine, and I got it years ago. The 4D is pretty heavy to hold for a while, but since it's also long it makes holding it on your shoulder (like a cop) naturally. And they're built like tanks, I've dropped mine more times than I can count. My new 3D LED Mag, I dropped it about 12 feet while on a later a few times already. You could probably run them over with a car.
I had this shitty little flashlight/lantern thing that I kept in my car. It worked as a flashlight, but also had a leg so you could stand it up and it doubled as a kind of lantern. I figured it would come in handy if I ever had to change a flat at night, but it was one of the items stolen from my car when it was broken into a couple years ago.
