I got one page in and couldn't believe there were five more. Racketboy at its best.

I think it means not removing abilities you've classically had as a consumer ... however it's BS because Sony also created SecuROM ...

Lets see Sony's dick movesCronozilla wrote:I think it means not removing abilities you've classically had as a consumer ... however it's BS because Sony also created SecuROM ...
1. That whole PSN Debacle.
2. the removal ot other OS from the PS3.
3. as hardware revisions in playstation hardware move
forward they REMOVE Features not add them.
PS2 BC, Card slots, other OS as stated above.
4. Securom as you said, I forgot about that.
And Ken Kutaragi was kind of a dick too boasting about the PS2 being more powerful than it was and the PS3 beasically being a Programing Rubix cube.

Re: Perhaps the DUMBEST REASON FOR A BAN EVER
I actually think Sony removing the stuff in PS3 really was because of financials. Sony had to do a lot of work to make that machine profitable ... which I'm not even sure they have yet.
The hardware isn't the most complicated or undocumented thing ever, the problem is video game developers put themselves in this software environment bubble ... they don't seem to be cognizant of what's being done in other tech. industries most of the time.
At the same time, using IBM blade servers as a base is a bit of a wacky idea and it kind of sounds like hardware engineers telling software people how stuff is gonna be done. I don't think there was even solid C++ support for PS3 when it came out. So, that would be more of a severe lack of development tools ... not necessarily complicated hardware.

True, but everyone else added stuff. I also think there was NO reason to remove other OS other than...
yeah I got nothing.
yeah I got nothing.

There we a lot of reasons to remove Other OS ... the issue is none of them benefited not-Sony.
Re: Perhaps the DUMBEST REASON FOR A BAN EVER
A full on Linux Console is a huge selling point. I still say Sony totally dropped the ball there.
Not like a huge majority could have used a linux install to completely hack the PS3.
