What single player FPS campaign are you playing?

A bit dated but a good game. Very good looking game for the PS2.
Agreed, but after playing KZ2 it's hard going back to revisit 1. Even the HD edition.
Honestly, I don't think the original Killzone was ever very good. It was overhyped as a Halo-killer, looked ugly and bland, and was generally boring. Killzone 2 was like a 180 for the series.

Linear vehicle sections have been around since at least MOHAA and the original COD... and I actually like those kinds of segments as long as they aren't overdone.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through Metro Last Light, and the game keeps getting better as it goes. There's nothing quite like facing down a monster that take a ton of hits while also running out of air and bullets at the same time and while your visor is getting smeared with blood and dirt. Wonderfully tense.

Also, there are a lot of nipples in this game.

I know, but that's circa 2002-2003.

I don't mind them, personally, I thought those games used them well. I don't think the way the feature is generally used now is particularly better, though.

And I have to agree about Killzone 1. It feels extremely bland. I also can't control it to save my life >_>

Rainbow Six Lockdown just keeps getting better and better. There are a wide range of mission locations and everything is pretty spot on. Just be sure to use the P90TR exclusively for all team members, makes things a lot easier.

For an FPS-starved console like the PS2 it was almost a godsend, but to survive atrophy in that genre a game has to be special indeed.

I don't think it was FPS starved at all. I would guess there must be 20-30 or more FPS titles for it...probably at least 3-4 a year which, for most of its life, was pretty typical of FPS titles on consoles.

I'd agree, there were actually quite a few PS2 FPS games to play. I wouldn't say it was lacking at all.

The platforming sections in Dark Forces can fuck off.

Oww sounds fun. Have you gotten a chance to play the last Metro game, if you have, what are your thoughts on it? After completing both FEAR 1 & 2, I've jumped onto Halo 4 (gorgeous game) and I'm looking forward to another shooter.

I have no idea why I'm going through this shooter phase, but I don't mind the switch from the retro games.

I think I liked 2033 better than Last Light, but it had novelty going for it. Both are very solid experiences though.
