I hope so too! It was my dad's. The left channel was blown, so he gave it to me and I got it fixed. He bought it and the original bose 901's (with sweet pedastool stands) in japan in the 70's. I have the eq for the speakers too. I have a pair of vintage bookshelf bose 201 series II for rear speakers as well. Sadly the left channel for my record player is burned out....records are only in mono for now. My tape player sounds great through it as well. I have all my game systems and my dvd player hooked to switch boxes with 2 audio outs. One to my tv and one to my receiver. So i have quadraphonic plus a stereo center channel. Take that surround sound!!!!

I'm a big Marantz guy myself as well. I use my new Marantz receiver in my living room though because it has 7 channels.

They're a little pricier, but I think it's well worth it. It performs twice as good as the Pioneer Elite and Denon I own.

This is the one I have: http://us.marantz.com/Products/2205.asp

personally I bridge 4 of the channels into two for the front mains. So that way stereo music gets a ton of power.

If I had a camera I would show my set up, but I don't.

I have mine bridged too, and use the rear two as remote speakers. So power is at a maximum  . I really want a newer Marantz receiver with a digital in/outs and more audio in's so i don't have to run everything thought switch boxes. But i love my vintage unit and probably won't ever get rid of it because it's quality. Plus the nostalgia of it being my fathers system and the style.

The signal separation on these old units is outstanding. I cant quite make out the model number, which do you have?

I always wanted a quad 4200 series combined with a bridged 4000 quad adapter to cover 5.1 sound myself.

what is carrying your center channel?

I have a 2215 and a 5020 tape deck which I am thinking about gutting to put my modded xbox into.

I have the 4300 with Stereo plus Quadradial 4. I use a split signal form my switch boxes from to my tv to make a "center" stereo channel. Not a true seperated center, becasue the receiver doesn't have one.

Its a beauty, and in good condition too.

you might have one lamp fuse bulb out or fading, they can be hard to find for replacements.

Really? I think all the lights look even, no dark spots or faded areas. I can see everything just fine, so that works for me. And other that the left phono input everything works perfect.

Just found an awesome lot of games a goodwill for 13 bucks. Complete copies of Toe Jam & Earl and Rocket Knight Adventures, carts of NES Ninja Gaiden, Super C, Mega Man 2 and FF Mystic Quest for snes. Not bad eh.

Oh, by the way. Can a mod move this to the Game Room section...technically it belongs there right.

There was a guy trading in his entire collection at my game store. They didn't take a few things and I bought them from him after the sale. But some of the stuff they took, they held aside for me since I'm a regular, and marked it down. I got brigandine and uncharted waters from him for 20 bucks, then the store sold me Shining force and robotrek for 8, and thousand arms for 12. Plus I had store credit. 8 bucks..i know. the cart only goes for more than that. i was happy. i put up a pic on the main page of this thread by my game gear stuff.
