amazing deal, a friend got me to watch, so funny.

Thanks lol. I just about dropped a brick in the aisle, and I never really expected to find something like that in a Thrift Store. Although, it did take a bit of convincing to get the set at that price point because the DVDs are missing their main box. So I though the thrift was going to charge full price but they were kind enough to give me a price adjustment on request.

Plus IIRC, it's the only legal way to play Golden Axe III outside of importing from Japan.

Genesis collection on PS2 has it.

Its also on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3/360, and its available digitally on XBLA in Sega Vintage Collection: Golden Axe.

I think it's down to a number of factors, I try not to go to the same boots every weekend, earlier the better ( todays effots contradict that ) also I don't think I have too much competition.
it can be embarrissing rooting thru a stack of kids toys, dollies, but they can contain all sorts.

Being in London you must have loads of boot sales around? although you probably have lots more competition also.

Boot sales here have been generally pretty awful.

I used to live up on the border of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. I had the odd bit of luck at some boot fairs around Kettering or Melton Mowbray, but nothing like what you've found.

Cartridge games of any sort seem to be the holy grail. I've never seen more than a handful of SNES game at a boot fair and they were all sports. I picked up the odd decent Game Boy, Game Gear and Mega Drive title, and even a half decent master system game once or twice, but they're very very rare occurences. I always check through kids toys on the lookout for Game Boy stuff

Of course, PS1 and PS2 stuff, aswell as modern console games are easiest to find, but I never find much special amongst them usually.

Maybe I should just move to Cambridge XD

I haven't done muc collecting lately but a few of the notable items I picked up over the last 2 weeks are:

2 Model 1 Sega Genesis' with 32X add-ons (no cords or controllers) for $9 each. Both tested and working perfectly.

Donkey Kong Country 3 for SNES mixed in a bag with random V Smile games and blank audio tapes for $2.

Paper Mario for Gamecube (no manual) for $3.

Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II for Gamecube & .hack Vol. One Rebirth for PS2 (both complete) for $4.50 each at Goodwill.

Was rainy out so there wasn't a ton to pick through. Still managed to pick up a couple of things though. First time running into a intellivision cart in this area was mixed in with a bunch of Atari 2600 carts.

Paid about $20 for these C64 games - Sea Wolf, Super Huey II, Five-A-Side Soccer, Bop'n Wrestle, Top Gunner Collection, Speed/Bingo Math, Tooth Invaders.

Five-A-Side Soccer was actually still sealed, but I opened it to play it (opening a game like this only devalues it by a dollar or two).

Very nice, finding the C64 Floppies in the wild and still working. Not that floppies are that fragile, its just most being sold are usually not stored or displayed in the idea enviroment.

If you don'f have an EPYX FASTLOAD cart, get one immediatel even if a little pricey! You'll be amazed how much quicker the games load off the disk drive.

I noticed the Top Gunner Pack is a two sider evidenced by the write enabled notch on both sides. I always made it a habit to put tape on those notches to avoid an accidental erase. If the game would not load, I would make a duplicate floppy and use it without the tape. That disk reminded me of my collection of BBS game disks. I have the square notch punch, would notch the opposite side and make a backup onto the back side. Back in the day there was dispute that the floppy spinning the opposite direction on the back side would cause quicker wear. Never had this issue, once it saved some files when the front side went bad.

@CRT - installed the Funkey's game and my 10 and 7 yo's played a bit, I just watched. We NEVER pc game, so it was a new experience for them. They enjoyed the interactive bit for sure - but still prefer the skylanders.

I didn't know those GEN emulator deals actually supported legit GEN carts, good to know and yeah, at $20, a good buy.

Thanks! For a PlugnPlay a very nice feature on the 80 game console. It is also inexpensive and the closest way to playing Golden Axe III just as it was originally created for; and even using the official Genesis gamepad without need of controller adapters. I really wish the Atari Flashback 2 console was cart ready out of the box. Maybe eventually AT Games will come out with a revision that feature a 2600 cart slot.

Curious which version Windows did you use the Funkeys Hub on. If Win 7 was it 32 or 64 bit?

Unfortunately, the Interact High Frequency GamePad does not quite work 100% with the 80 game Genesis, The C button acts as Start and C Button combined. Unsure if a bad controller, I suspect it is just not fully compatible with the 80 game Genisis PlugnPlay? I really wanted Rapid Fire for built in Vectorman series.

Its a problem with the AtGames clone console, not the controller. I had the same issue with mine. I eventually figured out that the problem is the controller ports on the clone console weren't manufactured with quite the same tolerance as the original Genesis consoles. As a result, the controller plugs can hang loosely and have intermittent contact with one or more pins.

Thank You! Come to think about it the controllers do plug in real easily. I'll take another look, maybe come up with a fix if this is the problem with the Interact controller and update the Guide.

Every time I've ever gotten a floppy that didn't work the former owner would eventually tell me "Oh these have been in my basement/attic/garage for 25 years......." Another batch of nonworking floppies I once received reeked of cig smoke.

I do have a FastLoad! I was lucky - it came with the C64 I purchased a couple of years back.
