One thing I like about older cart based systems (like the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and Intellivision) is the fact that there was no standardized cartridge shape, color, or design. Every publisher did their own thing - as long as it fits in the console you're good to go!

I actually don't like that. I have those Atari cart books I got from aaron, and they're great except for the ones that don't fit. :/

I was playing catch with my little brother and talking with my neighbor about the new handhelds. "So, on Black Friday I think I'll get a 3DS or Vita. Why don't you come with me?"

Some of my brother's eight-year-old friends overheard and asked, incredulously, if I was really talking about 3DS.

"All the cool kids talk about Xbox, sissy! I bet your mom doesn't even let you play Gears of War!"

Most of my students - elementary school kids! - play nothing but CoD, Halo, Gears, Madden. I swear 80% of gamers just play the same shit.

Let people play that stuff. I don't care. It leaves more quirky stuff for me.

Not my nephew. I was happy to show him retro. We ended up playing Super Mario Bros 3 on my laptop (was visiting, so no actual SNES). He sucked, but seemed to really be getting into it.

He's more of a skateboarder, though, than a gamer.

This spoiled hotshot has more games than I do. My collection has much better games and more variety, but he has at least 50 more than me in sports games, kids games, and knockoff shooters.

Maybe not if we count digital games...

You should know that all my games (not equipment) fit on 4 shelves and one drawer. I do have a ton of disc-only games in spindles, but I'm not running out of room like you guys are
