Smile: Thursday night was my "Friday" night as tonight is "Date Night". My good friend (who had the awful break-up) invited me over to his new place for brews and chews, games and such. Played too much smb3, drank too much, stayed up way too late. Paying for it.
So my friend is renting a house, which although is quite small has a killer backyard. It's a fixer upper, and I had planned on helping him with painting and refinishing his bathroom today.
Emphasis on "had".
Frown: At 8:30am this morning, with the smb.3 snow map still on and me asleep on the couch, I hear "Winterville Police. Sheriff!". After a quick clean up I answer the door, and he handed me a letter of foreclosure.
So my friend's fiance leaves him, he finally finds a place to live, and he has to find a new place and move within a week. Told him, "Hey, on the plus side you don't have to move everything in anymore".
It is certainly raining shit on my pal Pringles.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Sorry about your friend Luke. Its funny, Thursday night is my game with the guys night since my wife goes off with her best friend for dinner. Which plays into my Smile/Ticked:
Smiled - New pool vacuum came in, and while it threaten to disembowel me, it did not harm anyone and cleaned about half of the pool until its holding bay was full of algae so much that it looked like jello. I am running it again tonight, and probably tomorrow until it is clear.
Ticked - Despite it being out for over two years, Magicka STILL has weird bugs and rubber banding issues. It would be a fun game, if it didnt screw up so often.
Smiled - So since Magicka didnt work we played Killing Floor and I killed the Patriarch with a grenade by chance.

Arpuhguh? Fffpiss? Bah!
"Shmup" is far more elegant!

Yeah, I'm sorry too. He's going through a stage where he is having crappy luck and is also making crappy decisions. I can't blame him, my head wouldn't be on straight in his situation either.fastbilly1 wrote:Sorry about your friend Luke. You know that look someone has when they tilt their head upward, look left and skyward, and let out a long sigh? That's pretty much been his look for the past few weeks. He'll catch a break sooner or later, but likely it will be later.
I have two empty guest rooms that I told him he could use, rent free even, with the only caveat being he can only stay for two months.
Smile: Same friend has not had a haircut in THREE YEARS. He's getting it cut today and donating his locks to some cancer thingy. He also shaved off his beard.
I told him he's like a chick going through a break up. They always want a "new start on life" and for some reason it always begins with their hair.

There's nothing really wrong with this. The symbolism will help people let go. It's a good thing. So long as he doesn't go all Britney Spears, he'll be fine. (He's getting it professionally cut, right? That's the right way to go about.)Luke wrote:Smile: Same friend has not had a haircut in THREE YEARS. Oh no, nothing wrong with it. It's therapeutic. Girly, but therapeutic.o.pwuaioc wrote: There's nothing really wrong with this. The symbolism will help people let go. It's a good thing. Told him to go to my stylist, but I think he's going to "Sport Clips" or something like that.
edit* Aww man. There is a short person/midget on The Price Is Right and she's about to spin the wheel. Wishing her the best.

I'm actually currently using the internet at the clubhouse at Vista Del Lago, though we'll be leaving here on June 7th, due to so many of us getting kicked out. My grandmother and I were the exception, but my brother's girlfriend doesn't even have a record and yet it said she had something that made them reject her application to live here. And my mother? Hers was rejected for something she did before I was born! And yet my mother, brother and his girlfriend all managed to get jobs at Disney.dsheinem wrote: When your internet gets cutoff I am really going to miss these daily overviews of how your bills/accounts are looking.
And we paid the bill today.

Thanks!
Yeah we kind of mix rockabilly with some surf, and old school punk with a bit of a Rolling Stones vibe, kinda. It's a little more prevalent on other songs that we have. We actually played a cover of Chinese Rocks by Johnny Thunders & The Hearbreakers that night, we might post it.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Smile: My birthday's on Sunday (I'm hitting the big 3-0 this year), so tomorrow mom and I are going to Asheville to see a movie at one of the nicer theaters (probably After Earth) and have a nice lunch/dinner/whatever at one of the places on Tunnel Road. While we're in town, I'm going to drop my laptop off with the Geek Squad to see if they can get rid of the malware that's on it, hopefully without having to wipe the hard drive and start over (I've backed up everything I care about, so it's not like I'd really lose anything, it would just be a pain to have to reinstall all the software I have on there right now and rebookmark all my favorite sites). My laptop's still under warrenty, so that should be covered, I think.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.
