:( my hands are in tons of pain. Callouses are ripped through, skin broken, blisters or hotspots all over the place.

8) : It's because we had a killer show last night. I love playing the drums.

Aint that the truth. I had a huge beard a couple years ago people just assumed I knew what I was doing and that I should be there.

That's awesome, I'm glad that stuff is working out for you.

I think it'd be fun to actually have a band and play a few shows. Never could get all the right pieces together though. I guess it's just my location (well that and my work schedule).

Closest thing was me on guitar, a pretty cool second guitarist, and a god awful bass player (but a nice guy) that we didn't keep for very long. Then the guitarist moved to Colorado.

We managed to write some cool stuff while he was here, and it was nice having people to bounce ideas off of. Oh well.

I know the feeling. I grew up in South Texas, and we lived in the country about 20 miles away from the nearest town. My teen years were filled with requests for a ride or to be picked up before I drove or had transportation - and subsequently being "forgotten" or "too out of the way to pick you up on the way to the beach." (I lived literally on the road to the beach - you had to PASS MY HOUSE to get there.)

Anyway, with being in the country, I could never just go down the block to a school friends house to play around, or jam on music. I didn't have my first real band that played a show until 2002. I was in the same situation. Me and one other guitar guy would jam a few songs, then it was time for him to get picked up or whatever. It sucked.

I only just got a car of my own earlier this month, so I'd say we were on the same page. Who knows, maybe my luck in that field will finally change a bit?

You still in Texas? If you guys ever happen to come out towards the Abilene area to play, let me know.

Cool man, will do. We're in Austin so who knows. I know we have a show in Longview in August, but I'm not sure how much traveling we're gonna do since we're all old and have wives/kids/jobs, lol.

Smile: My Mother is home from the hospital.

Frown: The cardioversion wasn't successful. I asked what's the next step and her response was "Nothing. Live my life".

Well that is about the dumbest response I've heard in my life. Almost like she is throwing in the towel. There are options. There are medicines that could help.

Eh. She's in good hands with my Father.

But at the same time, I'm stepping in whether they like it or not. I saw something similar with my Grandfather's behavior when he had a heart attack. He didn't want surgery, and it took his son to talk him into it. At a certain age you start to feel responsible for your parents health, and I'm at that age. They are in their mid sixties, and sometimes you need a young and clear mind to help make crucial decisions.

Hopefully I'll find someone with a young clear mind, but for now they'll have to deal with me. As much as I goof around here, I can assure you my ticker is sharper than the average, and I pride myself on my judgement (of course, I lapse once every few years).

I'm going to schedule a one on one with my Mother's cardiologist for next week and see what steps need to be taken to keep Mom healthy way into her nineties. Doing nothing is not an option I'm willing to accept.

Good for you to push your Mom into not giving up. Sometimes it is difficult in dealing with all the tests and invasive procedures. Quality of life versus a chance of living longer. Its a tough call, hope all goes well.

That works for me; the only time I get carded is at places which card anyone who looks under 40, and I could probably sneak into those places if I dressed nicer.

I rarely ever get carded. When I do it is because I am with my wife who looks young.
