Chip not required, bootable iso's or boot disc works fine. including for jsut importing, use boot disc.

Like gennss said, no modding of the console is required. Just download, burn to a disc, pop it in and play. That easy.

although there is a VERY small minority of DC's which have problems with some discs, in my experience, .cdi based images are usually best loading/most likely to work images :p

Thanks everyone for all your opinions, i've kept my gamecube sealed because i just burnt ikaruga and it plays perfectly on my dreamcast (my dreamcast is kinda broken tho) i was just wondering if anyone else gets some slowdown when the bosses explode... cos it happens with every boss but no other places, it doesn't matter, just curious! =D

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

Yeah I think they put a soft cap on the FPS when the bosses explode. Even if the system can cope. They still put the limit in. Just for old times sake.
