The Kingsport Cases

So it's a Lovecraftian survival horror game with procedurally generated monsters, locations, NPCs, plotlines, etc. The idea is to give the player a different game each time they start, to keep them unsettled no matter how many times they play. Plus, it's a cool idea.

Re: Kickstarter Projects Worth Considering
I'm really interested to know how they intend to create "procedurally generated narratives" in Kingsport Cases. I would probably fund the kickstarter if I had the slightest idea of how that might even be possible. It's something I'm interested in seeing games attempt. The only example I can think of that resembles that idea is Facade, which was really interesting, but also really broken. You could say what you wanted to at the characters, and they would semi-intelligently respond, allowing for different stories to emerge, but it also misinterpreted the player frequently and did lots of nonsensical things.

Oh good lord. The fantastic encounters I could create with these. If only one of the players weren't so farty. This would probably just encourage him.AmishSamurai wrote:

Re: Kickstarter Projects Worth Considering
Probably some copy/paste, but here's some that really stood out for me lately:
Shovel Knight - looks like the best thing to come out of Kickstarter to me, original Megaman composer, etc, I am stoked.
Loving these SNES styled RPG's:
(music/sound could be better)
- Now this is a really cool way to do a intro video
