You know what? I've never taken the time to figure out the whole "Gallon to Hat ratio" thingy. Google to the rescue!AppleQueso wrote:Hey now, I know Cowboy hats are known for being large sometimes, but they are not umbrellas.Luke wrote:They're called umbrellas.

And an umbrella wont help keep me warm when it's cold!Luke wrote:They're called umbrellas.
Fedora's won't keep your suit dry in rain or snow.

Jacket.
If you are hellbent on wearing a fedora, I'm not trying to stop you. Just letting you know what everyone else is thinking.
Keep in mind I grew up in the windy city and am close to impervious to cold weather. If I'm in ten below weather and wearing a suit, a heavy jacket and scarf is plenty enough for me.

And for some reason most girls dig a dude in a jacket and earmuffs.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Also...earmuffs. They are awsome.

I'm not hellbent on the fedora, per se, but what other hat are you suppose to wear with a suit? A bowler? Surely that's worse than a fedora!Luke wrote:Jacket.

Now, I'm a hat person. I'm almost always wearing a hat, and it's almost always a baseball cap. If it's cold and I have to wear a suit, I'm not gonna wear a baseball cap. And I'm not gonna not wear a hat, I'd feel naked.
A fedora is the appropriate hat to wear with a suit. It's not my fault that trendy tool bags ruined it.
A fedora with...
...Sneakers, jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt = tool
...Suit and overcoat = classic and timeless
If grandpa showed up wearing a suit and fedora, no one would look twice. I don't think their should be a double standard.

I'd totally wear a derby.
But I'm only a hat person for certain occasions, like if I'm going to a hockey or baseball game. I guess I'm a "Hair person", and if I put a cap on, I plan on wearing it for most of the day. A scarf can be multi-purpose, and doesn't mess up the do.
Not sure if it is an urban myth, but apparently wearing hats messes with your scalp and hair.

Excuse me? Why isn't Indiana Jones on this list?!?Luke wrote:I had to have the "Fedora talk" with a friend recently as he wore one at a recent get together. Fedora's are for three types of people:
1) Your everyday Douche Bag
2) Celebrity Douche Nozzles
3) Frank Sinatra
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

He doesn't don a fedora unless forced by the man. He's an adventure hat man.
