 Kansas.

I keep going back to online dating sites, looking into some and considering others, but seriously if someone can find me any success stories from KANSAS then be my guest. This place freaking sucks balls for this stuff. Seems pointless so I don't know what to do, either keep holding out for when I can get back into school (whenever that might be) or I've thought about trying to find some part time jobs just to meet people with money not even being the issue. Dunno if I could pull it off with my 4/10's pharmacy schedule though, already drains the life out of me.

Doesn't help that I just straight up really have no friends anymore honestly. Had to cut off the druggies, my roommate is even more solitary and settled than I am, and people are married or have babies. I feel utterly stuck and can't stand it, dying to have some kind of social life again.

And, Kansas. Doesn't help at all.

:( - Went to visit my Grandfather earlier this evening, and when I got there, he didn't look well. He has COPD, and is on oxygen at night while he sleeps.

Today, he was on it, kind of slightly gasping, he looked very uncomfortable. I told him I was taking him to the hospital, and he said, "No, it's not that bad."

I basically had to beg him to let me take him, and even then he was still hesitant.
It's just fucking awful, feeling helpless because I didn't want to order him to go.

They're keeping him overnight for observation, but he is doing better; not struggling to breathe.

Man, this thread is a real downer lately. I hope all goes well for everybody out there experiencing family issues.
My grandmother was more like a mother to me than my real mom or step-mom (who is also more of a mother than my real mom). She passed away not too long ago, and never got to see my precious daughter. I feel like part of it is my fault, but I know nothing could stop it after the years of her smoking and doing drugs. It painful to watch her lose weight and slowly wither away. Even though I knew the day would eventually come, her death was sudden and unexpected. We had just made plans to go out and have lunch after several months of not even calling her. After she passed, my grandfather said he'd get off the stuff but just spiraled deeper into it. He eventually got caught and arrested, and after getting let out on good behavior, he has finally quit all that non-sense. Aside from the empty void left by my grandmother dying, he has been doing a lot better and sounds like he's actually enjoying himself.

All-in-all. I'm thankful to still have my grandfather and that he has cleaned himself up. I'm even more thankful that I can let my daughter be around him without worrying about if he's screwed up or not.

I hate venting like this, but after reading the past few pages I needed to get this out there. I'm not sure if this is to say "I can relate", or simply to make myself feel better. Maybe it's a bit of both...

:D Played some games with the family tonight.

:( My daughter really wanted to go swimming today, but the pool was closed.

And that's not even mentioning getting robbed, stabbed, and murdered daily.

I just realized that my grandmother put me on this stuff when I was a kid. No wonder I had such weird ass dreams. One of the dreams I remember the most involved a red moon falling to the earth, and thousands of black creatures pouring out of it and ripping people apart. Everything felt so real and vivid. I was eight...

I finally put my collection in a shelf. Too bad I have no way to upload pictures.

Smile: Despite some unfortunate circumstances, yesterday was pretty great. Friends, grilling out, disc golf (lost two discs in a creek, but found a disc in the process of looking for mine), and my wife surprised me by turning part of our back yard into a badminton course. From sunrise to sunset I was active.

Smile: Spoke with my Sister yesterday, and she's going to visit my Mother in the hospital. Asked for Mom's room number so I could send flowers, and Sis said she would pick some up and deliver the flowers for me. Makes it cheaper, and more personal.

I was initially put off by the misuse of travesty, but he entirely made up for it. That was hilarious.
