Panasonic 3DO FZ-1?

Post by valthonis »

I was helping out with spring cleaning at my parent's place and I stumbled across a box that still had my original Panasonic 3DO FZ-1 and a dozen or so games.

Even more so it still works! Man, I remember saving up and buying it with paper route money. Little did I know the Playstation was just around the corner. LOL

Anyways, had some fun the last few days playing with it, but how rare are these things?
Am I sitting on gold with a working FZ-1?

From ebay's completed listings, you're looking around $50 for the console and hookups, but the games will bring up the price significantly. Not "gold" per se, but not too bad for an attic find.

All the discs are surprisingly great shape. With the exception of Samurai Showdown that has a minor scratch (plays perfectly) everything looks like it's never been touched.

Disc Only:
-Samurai Showdown
-Dragon Lore
-Star Control II
-Star Wars Rebel Assault
-Captain Quazar
-Quarantine
-Shangahi Triple Threat (With long box manual only)

Perfect Shape (Unless otherwise stated) with Disc, Jewel Case, Art, and Manual:
-2x Super Street Fighter II Turbo
-Flashback
-PO'ed
-Gex
-Wing Commander III (Slight crack on the plastic case)
-2x Myst
-Shockwave 2
-2x Ballz Directors Cut
-Hell
-Guardian War
-Total Eclipse

Very Good shape long box games with manual
-Shock Wave
-Theme Park
-The Incredible Machine

Now that is a solid collection!

Guardian War is one of my favorite games on the system.

Heck, that is a pretty good start I would continue to grow/add to your 3DO collection.

Escape from Monster Manor & Immercenary were my first two games for the system, and happen to be my favorites but I still like many more 3DO games.

You have a solid list and have to pop Star Control 2 in again!

Edit: To answer you question if you struck gold, I would say no due to the completeness of the games. Most 3DO collectors are gonna pay for the whole package, where as with the loose disc you'll only attract curious buyers if the price is within reason or of lower value.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
