Happened with my grandfather. Gave up smoking and drinking cold turkey and never looked back.

Unfortunately, all that smoking and drinking he'd done his whole life until that point had already done a number on his body, but he lived many years after quitting. It's been a while, but it still feels really strange when I remember that he's not around anymore.

Well, in my case, it was more about not wanting to have to hide it. No one should have to hide who they are because if you have to hide it, that implies that there's something wrong with it. As Dr. Seuss says, "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Yes, this applies when talking about peers. The parent/child dynamic is completely different. I'm willing to bed that you knew exactly what the reaction was going to be before you told them, and you went ahead with it anyway. That's got an element of payback to it.
I knew pretty well what was going to happen. My parents were really forcing Baptism down on me and the wanting to tell them was just really stressing me out.

You're Wiccan?

Luke, I'm sorry to hear that man. My grandpa has been in and out of the hospital on and off for around 3 or 4 years now. It progressively gets worse, and each time it is harder on my grandmother, who stresses tremendously about it.

I say that, Luke, because of the way you're describing your dad's actions right now. That man is seriously dealing with stress, he just doesn't want to show it. My grandmother did it for about a year and a half before she finally broke, and it was hard to deal with it once she admitted it. Keep an eye on him too.

:D I've put it off for too long, but I'm thinking about going back to one of my ideas for a collection of original fairy tales for kids. I don't know who's gonna illustrate it, but I've already got a few stories in my head and I gotta get a few more.

:?: I also wanna start a Vlog on YouTube. Maybe get it to where I can also get ad money on it. Been wanting to do that for eons but kept putting it off.

He can take the apartment I'm currently living in, with its leaky roofs, crumbling walls, and hour long commutes to midtown. Space? Yes! Cheap? Yes! Worth it? No!

And that's not even mentioning getting robbed, stabbed, and murdered daily.

Actually, I plan on looking on Craigslist. And then when I find a place, look into the neighborhood so I know if the rent (again, just looking for a room) is good for the area, as well as any issues with the area (like how often I'll get robbed, stabbed and murdered), and get in touch with the people who posted the ad. And that's all BEFORE I actually set foot in the apartment. During the first look around, I pretty much what to pay attention to and for (smell of pesticides, traps behind the fridge, mismatched fixtures, water stains in the bathtub, the color and smell of the tap water, and so on), and to visit the area during the day and again at night.

:D Found out that Marilyn Manson's gonna be playing a show in Orlando in July.

:) Abney Park's also gonna be in Atlanta's DragonCon from August 30 to September 2.

:( Which is too damn far away.
