It seems like these switchers are very near perfect, but suffer if they aren't perfectly set or moved slighty.
Black:
Video and audio quality seems identical, I don't know whether there's any audio problems like high pitched noise (may be present in original cable), but the video might be slightly grainier or lower quality. I could be wrong though. It's just that the input SCART cable has to firmly set and not moved otherwise to not have all the video things set in place (screen not set perfectly, blurrier image, yellow image etc.). This could be not all of the SCART cable's pins meeting up with the slots. One thing in particular is that when I put a second input in, the first input lost some of its sound volume or half of stereo audio.
Silver:
-I seem to get slight static interference (both visually and audibly) and previously mentioned video problems if all connections are not perfect/if I move it around or something. May also give yellow miscolouring in this situation (which may have to do with the assumedly RGB cable I am using). Image quality seems slightly worse than original input and may have that high pitched noise problem as well. The video splitting does seem quite good though.
So yeah, these video splitters seem almost very good, but may be held back with issues. I basically want to know the line between bad cheap SCART boxes and good "cheap-ish" SCART boxes. These ones may be semi-decent, but how little can you pay for one that's damned accurate?
And speaking of switcher boxes, I'd also need ones for other inputs, specifically Component/Composite and HDMI (and S-Video and VGA out of curiousity). How cheap can you go for video switchers for these inputs while not stooping on quality?
Not to mention, could I build a sync stripper into the SCART splitter's coming off cable and will it work? I think it does for SCART extension cables...
