Watching Sports Center in the morning has been a routine of mine for over a decade, but I don't watch it religiously as I used to. Same with ATH and PTI.
What I like about OTL and "Reporters" is that they aren't shows driven my advertising, and both shows aren't afraid to go against popular opinion.
You'd never hear "Kobe changed his number, won a championship, bought his wife a ring, and Phil Jackson and the city of LA basically forgave him. Phil Jackson's daughter was a victim of sexual assault but still coached someone who is guilty of sexual assault. Obviously Phil cares more about the money and prestige than anything else".
That stuff would simply not fly on Sports Center or even Cold Pizza/First Take/Whatever they're calling that garbage show. But ESPN will allow journalists to speak their mind, and that is great. Plus, I have no interest, at all, in hearing ex jocks and "personalities" speak. Friggin Kornheiser was suspended for a week for commenting on something Hannah Storm wore, but Mike Lupica can ask "Does Tiger Woods have a brain?" and no one bats an eye.
