Ever since the Dreamcast, I don't really enjoy games anymore
All of the supposed good games of today; I can't play for more than a couple hours without getting bored. I mean there are some but they are rare. Like I really enjoyed the Batman Arkham games. Most of the time though I get bored after like 2 hours at the most. I find myself just grinding through the game just wanting to finish cause I hate leaving games unfinished and I still don't finish them haha. I mean I used to look forward to new games and played them for hours at a time. What do you guys think? Am I just getting old? Losing interest? Or was the Dreamcast just that good?

Whatever the answer might be, it isn't this.

I feel the same way. That's why I am playing a lot of 8 bit and 16 bit lately. I don't have interest in the new stuff anymore. My ps2 library has fighting, or compilations of arcade or neo geo hence the 80' s or 90's decade.
I don't know how old you are but friends and family that I know that plays games have gone back to the nes or snes scene. The games were fun to play and no installing or downloads just insert cart and turn power on.
The dreamcast is a great system to get back into. I love my system. Arcade, fighting, shmup, sports, action, galore. It's cheap, games are still cheapvto get and the library is a fun library for games. Get a dreamcast. First games to get virtua tennis, powerstone, soul calibur, crazy taxi, and sonic.

I just think you are craving for something different, something unique. You are getting old and a bit disenchanted with newer games. I feel that way sometimes. I want different, but I also want content. Indie games fulfill the different, but just not the large amount of content that I want and with mainstream games it is vice versa.

I'm finding that newer games are getting more and more generic; they're getting boring. There hasn't been a new gen game I've really wanted to play since Hitman: Absolution. There are a few interesting ones on the horizon though like GTA5 and The Last of Us, but nothing beats the thrill of picking up some unknown game for a buck and realising it's the most fun thing ever.

This. And saying that games haven't been good since the DC is so last gen.
If you're having trouble finding fun unique games you ought to take a closer look at what's available digitally on PC and PS3. There's tons of great stuff that takes a relatively low profile compared to what you'll find on the shelves at your average retailer.

Yea im looking forward to Last of Us too. I hope Ill like it. I played the Uncharted games and thought they were decent but not as good as the hype.
Why don't you recommend some good games BoringSupreez. And if yr recommending me to look for low profile things doesnt that mean games do suck more now? I mean back then I could go into a store and get a good game. Now I have to dig?

The Dreamcast was, and still is that good. There have been new releases on the Dreamcast in the last couple years (and still pending release) that were (are) far more exciting to me than 99.9% of the big budget titles released in the last six years.
That said, the real reason for your disenchantment is your age, Mr Jesus of Sonik. (Was "sonicjesus" really taken?) Either that, or a lack of effort on your part. The market has changed, and is no longer geared toward the majority of people who frequent this site. Arguably the best places for your tempered sensibilities these days would be in indy releases, the Wii, 3DS, or right back with the fabulous Dreamcast, which just never seems to die.
