Bruins pulled off an awesome comeback
I'm ready to see the sharks back in action after the sweep and having a few days off

I know that's a short post about something as big as the entire series, but it sums up how I feel.
I can't imagine they'll escape the Ottawa series that easily. Like the Bs, the Habs weren't quite as hot down the stretch, but the Sens didn't just beat the Habs, they crushed them. With the Pens' hopes pinned on a back-up minder (as good as he may be) at the very least, I don't think they'll be blowing into the Finals with a head of steam.
Literally epic comeback for the Bruins. I thought for sure i was seeing Hyde out there for two and a half periods. Rangers / Bruins series will probably give me a few cardiac events also.

"Literally" alert!
At this point I could see the Sens beating the Penguins. The Ice'burgh has lost a lot of steam, and the sens are more than formidable.

I would literally write a great Greek poem about it, personally; if I could write in Greek--.
I just realized that your other post was from the end of the regular season. My bad. Yeah, Pens looked like monsters at the end of the season. I always feel like I should like them more since their mascot is my favorite animal, but the talent grabbing before the trade deadline looked pretty ominous.

Yeah, at the end of the regular season I could see the Pens cruise to the Cup. but that isn't the case. I'll elaborate.
This has been the best playoff series in years, mostly because players aren't playing gary bettman hockey. Sure, there has been plenty of high scoring games, but teams haven't been playing the two line passing cherry picking razz-ma-tazz hockey bettman thinks we want, we are getting actual bare knuckle hockey.
Blue collared hockey. The hockey I fell in love with, the sport I fell in love with. The hockey that reassured me that the nfl is full of overpaid jackass weenies. The hockey I watched as a kid that led me to play college hockey and led me to coach hockey to kids. The 2013 playoff series gives me hope for the sport.
It's been fun, brutal, entertaining, but most of all, it feels and looks like hockey and not lacrosse on ice (I would have played lacrosse in college, but I didn't have a multi-million dollar trust fund and didn't have any issues with actually hurting an opponent).
I'm interested in every playoff game, even if I'm not a fan of either team. Almost every game seems like old school hockey, and I am slurping the NHL kool-aid right now. It's not where it needs to get back to, but it is close.

Nice to see this topic picking up steam, thou its sad to know that Breetai isn't here with us...
But I think the Leafs are heading in the right direction, granted they blew a 4-1 lead into 3rd period, but this was Game 7 against the Bruins - how many here expected the Leafs to last that long??? I think sticking to Reimer instead of going for Bobby Lu or Kip was the right call (IF Burke was really fired for sticking to him, shame on the ownership group).
Back to the 2nd rd, I do see the Hawks dominating the Red Wings, as this series will be a turning page for the next model team (not using "dynasty") - Red Wings and Devils are (SHOULD) heading to re-build phase for years to come.
Kings against Sharks, I say this this should be the last draw for the Sharks to keep team intact or rebuild with the core (Couture, Pavelski...) if they can't win the series against the Kings (the other model team). Still, I think the Kings will take the series in 6.
Pens vs Sens, there is a skill gap, but does the physical play negates that? I see the Pens win it in 6, unless the some key players are hurt.
B's vs Rangers, Beantown vs Big Apple, boy, this will be interesting! Could be a black-n-blue series all the way down to game 7 - either King Henrik holds the castle or the Bruins claw the way thru.
I will keep my personal thoughts on the Wilds after the Cup is won.

Yeah, a timely shut out for Howard indeed.Blu wrote:So how about those Wings last night? Sure is quiet in Chicago.
I'm still shaking my head at the two fluke goals Tuukka Rask let in last night against the Rangers

I only have a few dogs left in this fight. In order, Blackhawks, Bruins, Penguins.
I know King won't likthae this, but I really hope the Wings choke and start making mistakes, as that might be the only way Chi-town advances.

I haven't watched much of the Blackhawks during the year, but when their backs on the wall, do the muster or do they fade? Seems with the Wings at least, we got on a streak late in the season and we've been riding that wave ever since.Luke wrote:I only have a few dogs left in this fight.
