Walked to the store and back carrying a 12 pack of green tea cans, a gallon of milk, a gallon of soy milk, some canned food, and a little more in a backpack. It felt like my arms were going to fall off. On the way home, the sprinkler systems came on and got me, then I get a phone call. When I finally manage to get the bags I was carrying in a position to answer the phone, it was the mechanic telling me that my car was ready to be picked up. So I got home, put the groceries away, and rode the bike out to go get the car.
When I got to the shop, the mechanic and his wife told me that they worked extra fast on the car so it would be done in time for our vacation. When I asked him if it was safe enough to drive the 500 miles it takes to get back to LA, he told me that he would bet his shop on it. We spent a good bit of cash on fixing it, but the small mom and pop shop I took it too made me feel like it was money well spent. If you are in the Houston area and need car maintenance, I will gladly recommend this shop.
It's official. We have to leave by no later than the 7th of June. This is actually the shortest time I've lived in one place.
But apparently we'll only be moving just a short ways away to an apartment complex nearby.
