Hey, I named a couple people out of your league, but "she's out of my league" is the worst line of thought ever,

I guess its just how I think, but I just don't see the whole idea of assuming that one person can pull any other person. There are people out of one's league, and arguing that is just as stupid as arguing that every person can be president. In many cases, it just won't happen.

I know it's easier said than done, but just stop trying to worry about it for a while. Don't make a relationship the main point of your life right now, and ease into what you were already doing. Once you feel comfortable doing whatever you were doing before, maybe someone will become interested and approach you.

And yes, it does happen that way sometimes.

Jinx and I met five years ago, and he had just gotten out of a long term relationship. He pretty much stopped caring about finding someone because he had been with her so long. It just happened that my cousin saw him checking the mail, and bated him with crawfish (I'm from Louisiana, we spell it like that) so he came over, and I saw him. He made no effort to talk to me. Actually, he physically turned away from me when I tried to talk to him. I tried so hard to get him to say anything, but I only got one or two word responses. He couldn't figure out why the hell I was bothering him, but I thought he was cute and wanted to talk. I finally found something that captured his interest (a knock off 'ifone') and that started us just hanging out for hours until my mom told me I had to go home.

We swapped IM addresses, and we kept in contact through AIM. Finally, I got him to agree to go out with some friends and I. We went out and did typical teenager crap and we just bonded. I'm not sure if he was looking for a relationship at that point, but as I got to know him more, the more I liked him. Five years later, here I am sitting with our daughter in my lap and him laying on the sofa.

That was probably longer than it could have been, but the point I was trying to make is that someone out there is interested in you. If you stop making a relationship the main focal point of your life right now, maybe that person will get enough courage to talk to you. Jinx literally traveled across this country and had a few relationships that didn't work out, and it so happens that the person he ended up staying with lived 30 minutes from where he was raised, and even was a childhood playmate. (Well... I was more of a bully back then..)

You'll find someone, or someone will find you. Just give it time.
I'm here for your body.

Anyone else have several telepathic experiences?

Nothing like completing another person's sentence, or waking up thinking "this is going to be a bad day" and you have a bad day, but something you can't explain.

Example:

Wife: You wouldn't believe what happened to me today.

Me: You ran into Brandon Moore at the Post Office?

Wife: How the f--k did you know that?

Me: I have no clue.

And I really didn't have a single clue. I didn't know my wife was going to the post office, B.Moore was our upstairs neighbor several years ago, and running into him isn't a big deal.

It was like I answered without thinking.

And I know it is just coincidence, but have you ever thought "I haven't talked to 'so and so' in a while", and all of a sudden the phone rings and 'so and so' is on the other line? Or think about a song, and *boom*, it's the next song on the radio?

I swear my dog and I have some kind of telepathic bond. She can be fast asleep in her bed, a story down, but if I get down in the dumps she runs up and comforts me. And I'm not talking about crying down in the dumps, just a sliver of sadness and she's right by my side.

Just me?

I'm doing some comprehensive reading testing at the elementary school here.

What's interesting is that the kids who score the highest are usually those who speak English as a second language.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that if English is your second language, you'll have to think about it a lot more.

Not to put words into my wife's mouth, but I'm pretty sure she would say in general ESL students are above the curve (at the elementary level). They seem to care more about their education as a whole, and they've been taught that school isn't work but an opportunity.

Yes, and it happens at weird frequencies with my fiancée. I'll be thinking about something that I need to do, or something random. She'll be in the other room and come out and ask about the same thing I was thinking of, or vice versa.

Can you get a feel on this sort of phenomena?

Yeah, it only happens to me with the people I feel a connection with. What boggles my brain is that sometimes stuff like that will hapabpen with strangers. Again, most of it is probably coincidence or happenstance, but it's crazy when an incident like that occurs.
