I'd say Doom 64 is one of the best games on the N64. It also is uniquely appealing. So even if you don't care for GoldenEye or Perfect Dark or even Nintendo games on the N64, Doom 64 can still be attractive.Damm64 wrote:Doom 64 is a totally new game, is not a port. Do you collect an entire series?

Oh wow, thanks for the info. Never knew that about Doom64 will have to check it out then.
Yeah overall I'm of the opinion that the N64 wasn't such a great system, but there were some real gems for it to be sure. Ogre Battle 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a couple of others which were just must owns.

That about sums it up for me. Not large library of great games, but a few must-owns. And that annoying freaking controller really brings it down, for me.dmike wrote:Oh wow, thanks for the info. Never knew that about Doom64 will have to check it out then.

Not sure I understand this. Sure it's Japan-only, but it's a unique game (not a port).Jmustang1968 wrote:That's japanese only so it didnt count.BoneSnapDeez wrote:What about the Neo Geo Pocket game?Jmustang1968 wrote: Every Ogre Battle series release.
I mean, if I only purchased the American Ys games I would have I, II, III, VI, and VII. No IV or V!

But those are pretty text-heavy games. Those that don't know Japanese would be lost.BoneSnapDeez wrote:

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
I figured some might want the JPN-only games for "collecting purposes" or whatever.
Re: Do you collect an entire series?
Off of the top of my head the only games I have the complete series for, as far as US releases go are:
-Ace Attorney(Don't have AAI2)
-Xenosaga(Don't own Xeno 1+2 DS or Freaks)
-ZOE(with the exception of the HD collection because I heard it was not that great)
-Zero escape, even though only 2 games are out, I plan on picking up the third game when it is released
I'm not too big on collecting an entire series because what ends up happening is one or more of the games in the series are not worth owning or are really rare and expensive.

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
dmike, I wasn't discounting Doom 64 ... I was saying it's the one I'm missing. >_> I actually played it when it came out, I liked it a lot. I was just never able to get the game.
