It's really a gated community.gtmtnbiker wrote:So they keep track of who is going to/from your apartment? That sucks. I guess they need to make sure that you don't have 20 people living in 1 room or something like that.REPO Man wrote:
Mom's got seven days before Vista Del Lago is sending her out.
But she's already got alternate living arrangements. She'll be living with a coworker and it'll only cost her $60/week. But pretty much she'll only be sleeping there, since she's not allowed to sleep in the house anymore. Basically, once bedtime rolls around, she's gotta go to her apartment.
And things have changed since then. I don't know/remember all the details, but I do know that my brother's girlfriend's application got rejected recently. She doesn't have anything, financial or criminal, to rationalize this, but basically they said it was an issue with her criminal record, which is fucked up since she doesn't HAVE a criminal record.
I did find a place, but they were looking for roommates (the ad said they had 4 rooms for rent), and mom was talking about how she didn't want to live with strangers and how it was so far away (about less than 45 minutes away from VDL). So instead she'll just bitch about how we don't have anywhere to go, and then bitch about any solution I come up with. And my brother will fly off the handle at the slightest provocation, but that's not really new.

Smile: Getting my Fire Emblem Awakening pre order art book from ebay. Even though the US version doesn't have that hardcover that the European one apparently had, it's still very nice. It's bigger than I expected. I didn't flip through the whole thing though as I don't want to spoil any future character appearances as I play through the game.
Also, hearing about how Microsoft is totally screwing themselves this gen. They are in for a serious reality check.
Ticked: Being stuck on two puzzle palace stages in the new Mario vs Donkey Kong game. Can't figure out how to finish them with all the Mario tokens. I gave up in frustration. It's not like I don't have other things to play

This is going to sound a bit harsh, but maybe it's time to let them figure their own problems out and go off on your own. They are grown ass adults, (At least I'm assuming, not sure about your brother and his girlfriend) and relying on someone that has no responsibility to them is no way to live. Just because they are 'family' is no excuse to bend over backwards for people who will not appreciate it.
This isn't to say that you should never help out anyone in your family, some people do deserve it. However, I see way to many people think that just because you are related to someone you have to help them out. I have dear family members that I would go to the ends of the earth for, and I have some that I wish would walk in front of a bus. It all depends on how they treat you, and if they think they are entitled to your resources, then maybe it's time to rethink the relationship.
I'm here for your body.

Ticked: Work sucked today, one of the worst shifts I've had in the 1.5 years of working there. I can't believe the arrogance and just plain up stupidity of the general public.
Bummed out: Came home from that shitstorm of a day to play around with my heli. It ended up getting stuck 40 feet up a tree
At least I got a photo op out of it:
The blue and red lights are the flashing LED's. There's $50 literally stuck up a tree.
Not quite a smile, but contempt: Asahi beer. So great drinking these after months of drinking Australian backwash non-stop.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
^Literally alert!
Frown: My body is covered in baseball sized bruises. Looks gnarly and I feel like someone went to town on me with a baseball bat interrogation style.
I overdid it on a workout, so I'll have to let my body heal for a few days.
Smile: My Pops called yesterday and we spent over a half hour on the horn as he has made plans to retire in September. I don't know how he planned it (and I need to find out) but he'll be making more money while retired than when he worked. He's so stoked about retirement, and who could blame him?
When I noticed we'd been talking for so long I apologized for taking so much of his time and he responded with "It was worth every second". Can't tell you how much that meant to me as that was his way of saying "I love you".

I miss my dad. I didn't start to realize how much of a cool SOB he was until it was too late.

Never knew my dad very well. Still don't.
He left when I was about 3 or so, and I pretty much lost all contact not long after he got remarried (I want to say I was maybe 5 or 6?). I've gotten in touch with him once or twice since then, it was awkward. I pretty much felt like I was talking to a complete stranger, I had absolutely no idea what to say.
