I am just going to take the parts from the others and combine them into four good ones. As I upgrade them they will all be made tweaked specifically for gaming except my editing pc. I was looking into getting some cheap 360s and lanning those aswell, but the small list of 360 lan games (that dont require gold accounts) and are worth playing is very low to me.TheSonicRetard wrote:Well, there are local multiplayer games on the PC. But, in all seriousness, my PC could handle running several instances of a number of games at once.Stark wrote:You want all the processing to happen on one rig for playing LAN games? lol @ this console gamer mentality
my 7970 has 7 heads on it. 1 gaming PC can output to 7 rooms.

Huh? The WiiU is intended to be a media hub as well. The difference is that Nintendo hasn't done much more than catch up with the PS3/360 so far. But give it a few years and they'll be trying even harder to be the go to device for everything.Retrodude wrote:It's official. The WiiU is the only real game console this gen. Re: New Xbox releases in Nov. Will be called "Xbox"
Haven't seen anything yet today but it sounds just as I feared. M$ is obsessed with making a box that does everything, and one of those things just happens to be games. Sucks.
This is the least excited I've been for new consoles. I'm sure some of that is due to just being a few years older again, but I think there are concrete reasons too. Each generation before this (save for maybe the last one) the rhetoric was along the lines of "and THIS is what you'll be able to do in-game when this new console comes out!". Now it's "here's how we've integrated all this other non-game stuff". It's really a shame.
It would've been great to see some demos of a player roaming through a crowded Times Square, with at least a couple hundred people visible at the same time, 100% accurate representation of the area itself, and tons of interaction with individual passers by, hot dog stands, pay phones, fire hydrants, etc. Unfortunately we're more concerned with "the experience" when you turn on the console as opposed to the friggin' games.

I honestly...dont get how this is any different from the Wii-U and PS4 in terms of games vs multimedia.
Nintendo and Sony's press conference spent even more time talking about things that are not game related. I really don't understand how that criticism goes only toward Microsoft.

I don't get it either. I'm not even a big Xbox fan. Only have one for shmups. But I don't see the X1 as some terrible thing. It looks nice. Just waiting to see whether it'll get exclusives I want to play.Violent By Design wrote:I honestly...dont get how this is any different from the Wii-U and PS4 in terms of games vs multimedia.

Well, they seem to spend more time harking on it then the others. Also all of this "Xbox, watch ESPN" is not what I (or many others who actually go to take forums) need to hear to be sold on the system. But regardless I don't like when any of them spend time talking about.

Well and it also shouldn't be a surprise. Microsoft has been dead set on making something like this happen since before the original Xbox.Violent By Design wrote:I honestly...dont get how this is any different from the Wii-U and PS4 in terms of games vs multimedia.
