Ikaruga!! (need some opinions)
Re: Ikaruga!! (need some opinions)
Dreamcast version already dropped in price somewhat. Considering its available on live, easily pirated and on several systems, i'd open it and play. or get another copy to play.

I'd say open it, Ikaruga is not THAT collectible. Now if by some miracle of god you had a sealed copy of Radiant Silvergun, you'd be an idiot for opening THAT.

It depends on what you paid for it. If you got the sealed copy for about the price the game costs used than just keep it sealed. If its the Gamecube copy, keep it sealed. I think there are lot less sealed gamecube copies than there are sealed dreamcast ones, or at least the people haven't started selling them yet. The game probably won't keep its value too much opened, just because there are so many copies. I know I can get a Dreamcast copy complete w/spine card for $35 shipped.
If you've got a DC burn it and play it that way.

isn't there an arcade rom also? or is it unemulated? you could go that route i guess.

The Dreamcast version didn't drop in price somewhat, it fell through the damn floor. Many video game stores are peddling sealed copies of the DC version for almost $200. I bought mine for $51... no one should have to pay much more than this.
Since Ikaruga is legally distributed digitally, there's no reason to keep the copy sealed unless you are collecting it for personal enjoyment. It's not going up in value.

Tercoil - I dont think the GC one is very collectable tbh (sorry) I bought it brand new only about a year ago for like 20 euro.
Play it man - its a great game and TRULY a work of art - I would however say that if u have either a 360 or a DC, to get it on one of them also, as in my experience the GC one stuttered a bit even during normal play (i.e. not massive explosions)

my buddy came by one day. had no idea what ikaruga was. I popped it on, and every couple seconds he would just say, "this is TOO good...this is TOO damn good", followed by, "HOLY CRAP!" every now and then.

I just acquired one, and I am tempted...Gamerforlife wrote:Now if by some miracle of god you had a sealed copy of Radiant Silvergun, you'd be an idiot for opening THAT.
oh, and my cube Ikaruga is still sealed. I am somewhat of a collector, but I never really intend to keep things sealed. I just only buy new.
Re: Ikaruga!! (need some opinions)
Haha thanks for all your opinions, i am buying a dreamcast off a friend very soon for quite a reasonable price with games and controls, so i might just burn the iso which i have and play on dreamcast... But can anyone tell me if the dreamcast needs a chip to play burnt games and different region games or is it just the gd-roms which made it protected??
