PCE or PC Engine (or Turbo Grafx) was out around the time of SNES/GEN. Lots of the titles you seem to enjoy.
CMVS is a cheaper alternative to the Neo Geo AES. All the 2D fighters, shooters, puzzlers - all arcade stuff on original hardware.
If you like SAT and DC style games - you'd be at home with a CMVS or Neo Geo AES, no fluff and everything holds up well.

Plus, you can go the route of a MVS multi-cart, which you can get up to 161 games on 1 cart. Granted, a good few of those are hacked dupes of games, but you still get well over 100 games for about 80 bucks + shipping.
