Microsoft is a textbook example of how not to deal with a substandard product.
I've never unplugged a console for the express purpose of extending it's life. The only console that has ever died on my while I owned it was my original Xbox - 3 1/2 years of use, and it's disc drive failed.
Really, saving some money on the electric bill is the only reason to unplug one. Especially the newer consoles - they suck up lots of power relative to their older brethren.
Unplugging Game Consoles from power supply?

Yup, good thing microsoft learned their lesson and cleaned up their act with the 360 launch... oops, did I go there? I believe I did.vejita wrote:no, the PS2 had some fire hazard thing, but the Xbox dealt with it badly since... well, they dealt with their product badly at first
