I don't think I've every made this a goal, but it can happen by accident if I love a series and end up buying every installment. I have every Sly Cooper game not counting games that they just cameo in.
Some series though, have too many installments to be worth collecting. I like Dynasty Warriors but I would never try and buy all fifty million Dynasty Warriors games and fifty million Dynasty Warriors spin offs, copy cats, expansions, clones, etc. You can only recycle something so many times before it gets ridiculous.
Or the fifty billion versions of Street Fighter Capcom has put out over the years.
Do you collect an entire series?

Just curious - what formats are your Ultima games in? Do you have original DOS/Apple II/C64 disks or a compilation like the Ultima Collection?Nemoide wrote: Ultima (I'm missing some of the console/Game Boy games)
The Game Boy Ultima games are surprisingly good.
Don't forget to pick up the C64 port of Contra!BurningDoom wrote: Series That I'm VERY Close to Having Fully:

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
If I have a physical copy of the best port of a particular entry in a game, then mission complete for my collection. I don't go for multiple ports of the same game, unless there's a portable version as well.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Just curious - what formats are your Ultima games in? Or is this C64 game an entirely different Contra game?

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
It's a port - much worse than the NES game, but interesting nonetheless. I suggested it because I know you have a C64 and it's not that hard to find. I don't own it, but have played it twice at PAX East.
I love Western computer versions of classic Japanese games for some reason.

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
I have the Ultima Collection, as well as Ultima III for NES, IV for SMS and V for Apple II. I have the original release of Worlds of Ultima: Martian Dreams, the GOG release of Savage Empire. And a two-in-one release of Ultima Underworld.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Just curious - what formats are your Ultima games in? MAN I NEED TO BEAT MORE OF THESE GAMES.
Re: Do you collect an entire series?
Yes, and i try to get the "ultimate collection" on one system this means that (if i can) i want all the games of the series in one system... im currently working this on the gamecube with resident evil and the God of war games on the PS3 (this one is gonna be easy). But i think is unnecesary to have the same game on various systems ( unless i really really really like that game).
So far i just wanted to do this with Resident evil and donkey kong country games (still need 3), but maybe if like them enough i would go with other franchises.

Re: Do you collect an entire series?
I have both of those. I recently picked up PDMini, but I've had the R-zone version of PD since it first came out. Nobody talks about the r-zone, mainly because it was only slightly better than a normal tiger handheld electronics game.Hobie-wan wrote:Including Mini and R-Zone?Nemoide wrote: Unquestionably, every titles in the series:
