Re: Wii-U thoughts so far

So far I have been enjoying the system a lot. I picked up Kirby for the NES and Super Metroid for less than a dollar, I have ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros U, Nintendo Land and the free multiplayer version of TANK TANK TANK (which I have yet to try out as my wife has been working nights since I downloaded it) and have already felt like I got my money's worth.

I find the system to be a really fun and exciting experience. I do not understand why people have actual hate for it. There are fun games for it. I know there are some genre's currently missing from its lineup, but it still is young. We don't know what the future will bring for the Christmas season, but we will find out in a few weeks for E3.

With the current loss of EA, I could care less. Yes we don't get any Star Wars games, which is one of the few things I will miss out on. In its replacement, I still get Ubisoft, Activision, Capcom and most importantly Nintendo games.

The verdict is out on whether the system will be a success in the public's eyes, but, like with the DS and 3DS, it always takes time before the real success of a system can be known.

For me though, I am happy.

I have been really enjoying Wii U. I am sick of the Nintendo haters. I'm impressed with the Miiverse. I don't care what other people say about Zombie U. It is one of the best survivor horror in a LONG time.

Hey! They didn't let us down with the Virtual Boy. The Virtual Boy has brought us a geek decoration piece people put in front of their webcams to give them "street cred" or something on their enthralling face-cam let's plays!

I've been meaning to check out a Wii U at one of those store demo stations but then I always stop myself from playing because demo units are probably one of the most germ-covered things in existence.

I'll get to play one one of these days.

Started playing Super Metroid for the first time, what a great game so far! Also got Runner2 because I saw it was on sale. It's pretty good as well.

Same here man. It's getting out of hand with all the negativity that's getting swirled around.

And I'm also using Miiverse way more than I ever expected. Got some tips on wall jumping in Super Metroid earlier today. lol.

I'm becoming more and more convinced the Wii U is going to be far less successful than the Wii was. The sales numbers and game lineup are very reminicent of Gamecube. Not a whole lot of third party games to look forward to, and in particular exclusive third party games. I'm not saying the U sucks, but Nintendo is definitely going to be stuck doing their own thing this coming gen, while either the PS4 or 720 rakes in the big sales.

Wait, you needed to be convinced of this? The fact that the Wii U wouldn't achieve the Wii's level of success was obvious before they even announced the thing.

Wii was a huge runaway hit, nobody expected it to do THAT well.

Yeah seriously. Anyone who imagined the Wii U as a huge mainstream success are a bit off their rockers. I envisioned more of a GameCube level of success from the get go. Nintendo is largely in it's own niche and that's just the way it has to be for them to succeed I think.
