Got the rest of my shed down today:
Ended up just sledging it down:

Where the back header had rotted, some unfriendlies setup shop in the eaves; this all came falling out:

The railroad ties used as the foundation had completely rotted through:

The aftermath: (i'll recycle the aluminum and good lumber, the rest goes into a dumpster)

Once everything was moved 70' to the side of my garage (where the dumpster will be dropped off), I cleared all the brush out of the area and (attempted) to level it out, creating a nice clearing:

However, the ground was too wet and just cold / rainy to do any motivated foundation work for the new shed, so I decided to install a new hood range instead.

Electric was on the opposite side on the new unit, so took about 2 hours longer to cut out the drywall and extend the electric to the next stud and back through the new location. Duct work above was about 1/2" from flush with the new unit as well, but it got done (yes, all to code :) )
Old Range Hood:

You can see in the background the electric coming out of the wall - it needed to be 16" to the right.

So, once that was done, adjusted the duct work and set her in:

Ah yes. That looks familiar.

Getting a new range is on also on our list of "New Things The Kitchen Needs." I think it's right under 'dishwasher', because, as mom says, "the old one", (aka Dad), "isn't cutting it anymore."

That and I think that giant 'hole' under the counter where the dishwasher is supposed to go is starting to bug her

Our kitchen is very dated - floor and cabinets in early 80's, fridge and dishwasher early 90's, range early 2000's. We've been holding off on new appliances so they can meet and meld with an eventual remodel / expansion, but with other projects, that might be another 3-5 years away, so it's time to just update the appliances now, not only for performance and energy savings, but yeah, aesthetics too.

Yep, I understand completely. That sounds exactly like ours. Very 80s. Light "wood grain" laminate cabinets, pale brown appliances....It makes me wonder why this style was popular to begin with. The only thing relatively "new" when we moved here was the stove-top and I'd peg that at at least 10 years old. I know mom would love to do something about the look of the cabinets, but the kitchen is just so damn BIG that whatever she'd want to do would cost a small fortune. So appliance addition/upgrade it is.

My kitchen top is this horrible faded pink, fairly tasteless even by late 80's standard. I can't help but think what was going through the original owners minds when they built that...

:(
Looks like my daughter might have something called "Roseola". Luckily it doesn't look too serious, and she got her appetite back today.

:)
She's going through one of her "learning stages" where she seems to gain a massive amount of knowledge in a short period of time. She's now using "Yes" and "No" properly, and can clearly state what she wants. She also started using her MegaBloks to build things instead of just making a tower and destroying it.

:(
My weekend sucked. Had to come into work on my first night off, and ended up sleeping my second night away. Vacation hours are in, and I'm counting down the days.

Edit:
:D
Helped somebody named "Han Soo Loo" today.

Yeah, not a fan of megabloks, but somehow they have gone very mainstream. They've landed some solid licensing deals too. I really was hoping Lego and Skylanders would meet up, but they went the megabloks route. :|
