Does 1 series count? I LOVE the SNES. I really do. DKC, Yoshi's Island, soooooooooooo many great JRPGs, Super Metroid ect. ect. ect.

.....but if I had to choose one or the other, I'd choose Mega Drive just for Sonic
The only other real killer ap that console had for my tastes was Streets of Rage, but it alone wouldn't be enough for me to buy the console

Of course, that burned me in the end.
So if it didn't have Rayman Legends as an exclusive, you wouldn't have bought it? Or would you still have bought if the Wii-U only had one good game, the new Mario?

If I had known that Rayman Legends was going to be dropped and pushed back to September then I probably wouldn't have bought a WiiU until later.

You all who said 1, if you could only find one game on a retro console that interested you, say e.g. the 3DO, would you still get it? 5 games for the 32X? 1 game for the Pippin? etc
1 would still remain my answer, I would buy a system for 1 game and then most likely find a few more to add the list. It does not bother me since I usually go for Quality over Quantity with a dash of that games horrible but I still like it.

Personally, I try to always find at least 5 games that I really want for a system before buying it, with very few exceptions (One of which was Persona 4: Golden, which single-handedly sold me on a Vita). But, it generally takes a lot less to get me to keep a system, since selling one requires a lot more inertia and novelty is no longer a factor.

I try to find at least 10 games that i want on a system. Buying a new system can a be a bit expensive if you are a college studen without a job... so i spend every penny wisely... or at least i try

For an expensive launch system, maybe 4 or 5 games to justify the arm and an a leg I'm paying for that console. I'm assuming it goes without saying that they would have to be exclusives. Ultimately, you should buy a console for those games you can't play anywhere...which is why some people still can't justify getting a 360 with its tons of inferior PC ports. PS3 is really a smarter option in that regard

For an older console I can get for a decent price, it only takes 1 game for me to consider buying it. Granted, 1 really good game.

A better question would be how many games you want to see with the highest graphic settings, does it take to upgrade your PC?

You have summed up my opinion perfectly.
