REPO: It was a deal-breaker for me. It just made so little sense to me. Also the carnival set up was totally wasted. Could of done so much more there.

Iron Man: Rise of Technovore: 4/10

Dear god was this boring. Literally the only part of it I truely enjoyed was the 10 or so minuets of Punisher showing up. Norman Reedus was cool as Castle, though he says so little that I'm surprised they bothered to get a name guy for that role. Frank's depiction was spot on though. Not bad for his first outing in the new Marvel animated world. The less said about his appearence in Spider Man the animated series.

The rest of the movie. Techno babble, convoluted quasi-philosophical BS, and insanely over done breasts for Pepper Potts and Black Widow.

She was his bloody cousin so that whole angle was hardly surprising. The ending itself was just dumb.

My brother made me watch Fanboys the other night. For people that don't know Star Wars I'm sure the movie is pretty worthless to them, but for fans it works quite well! Seth Rogans characters were freaking hilarious. I don't remember any hype about this movie coming out, and had no idea it existed. Worth the time if your pretty versed in the original trilogy.

STAR TREK (2009)
Four years later, it's still as fresh, funny, exciting and breathtaking as the first time I saw it. I think it just might be one of my all time favorite movies and it's definitely my favorite Star Trek movie (First Contact was my previous favorite, but this one kicks its ass with both hands tied behind it's back). I can't wait to go see the sequel tomorrow!

I've held off on seeing it because I heard the final film was ruined by executive meddling. Is there a director's cut I've not heard of?

I didn't like the direction they took Star Trek in. The sequel is even more pointless than the 2009 film. I'm going to skip it. I hope Pacific Rim will have a bit more intelligence.

I've never met anyone who really likes the original Star Trek (like me) who also really likes the new films. I thought the first was ok, but it is hard for me to get too excited about running out to see the sequels. I'll catch it on TV.

I feel like there are almost no interesting upcoming movies this summer :/

I'm no where close to being a Trekkie or Trekker, but I've watched all the movies, and every episode of Star Trek and TNG. I enjoy both the movies and shows, but if the franchise just stopped, I wouldn't even shrug.

And Dish isn't going to meet that person that likes the original movies and the new one today. Love the original movies, not a fan of the JJA movie, at all. It takes itself way too seriously, which isn't in the vein of Star Trek. Plus the visuals might be some type of "art style" but it's one I abhor. Too distracting, and lens flares only reminds me of trying to catch a pop upped baseball with the sun in my eyes.

Yes you have, you've met me! I love the fact that, due to how time travel works in Star Trek, the new series is a sequel, prequel and reboot all at once. I always thought that was brilliant. I wish Paramount would do a new TV series cause one movie every few years just isn't enough. EDIT: Oh, and if you'd been paying attention, what JJ Abrams actually said was that he was a fan of the original show and watched it often as a kid, but it wasn't his favorite. That's where the "not a trekkie" comment came from.

Meh, aside from the obnoxious lens flare thing, I didn't really have any major issues with the JJA movie. I get that fans don't like it because it's very un-Star Trekky, but as a sci-fi action popcorn romp thing I thought it was plenty enjoyable. Not that my opinion means much.

Isn't JJA up to doing the new Star Wars stuff? I'd be perfectly happy with that honestly.

Yup. At least VII. I'm all for it as long as it looks nothing like Star Trek. He could even get rid of stars for all I care.
