Re: Games Acquired 2013
I went to a flea market yesterday. It was kind of rainy, so the guy that I normally go to when I go to this one didn't bring as much as usual.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
It is time for my mid-month update!
As expected, the rate at which I am acquiring 2600 games has slowed tremendously. A local pawn shop has been a gold mine for PS2 games this month, and I have added a lot of games to my PS2 collection for not very much money.
Finally - and although I have acquired almost 300 games - I am still under $1000 out of pocket for the year (and I have probably recouped $150 or so through sales, but I do not account for those here). My average cost per game is hovering around $3.26, and this number has been the become the baseline for determining whether I am getting a good deal. (In other words, if a game I want costs less than $3.26, then I will definitely pick it up. Anything above that requires a significant amount of discretion...since I don't want to mess up my numbers.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
For some reason, a few of the local pawn shops here have been absolutely blowing up recently. It is like some collectors decided to get rid of their stuff in the least profitable manner possible.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Where are you finding these deals?!?!?!
Seriously - in addition to the copies of Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC) and Fatal Frame II (XBOX) that I recently sold/traded - I acquired all of the following:
Darkened Skye (GC; CIB) - $2
Dead of Alive 2 Hardcore (PS2; CIB) - $2
Drakengard (PS2; CIB) - $2
Fighter Maker 2 (PS2; CIB) - $3
RPG Maker 3 (PS2; CIB) - $3
Shadow Heart Covenant (PS2; CIB) - $2
Stella Deus (PS2; CIB) - $2
Xenosaga (PS2; CIB) - $2
Xenosaga Ep. II (PS2; CIB) - $2
Xenosaga Ep. III (PS2; CIB) - $2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (WII; CIB) - $6
Peter Jackson's King Kong (XBOX; CIB) - $2
from one pawn shop. Moreover, there is still a lot of good stuff sitting on the shelves there that I simply do not need for my collection.

I recently purchased the Humble Double Fine Bundle. They also included the Amnesia Fortnight games and the documentary videos. The only game of the collection I played was Brutal Legend, but did not complete it because I am in the process of selling my PS3.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
I just got Super Bonk in the mail, like five minutes ago, and boy this was depressing.
The amazon description said it came with the manual, and it did, but when I first opened it up, it seemed a bit... hard for a manual. What I saw when I got it out of the package was it was being protected by the box, or well... the front and back of the box, cut up like a cover. Depressing, man.

Re: Games Acquired 2013
Been cutting back a bit since there are so many new games coming out that I've got my eye one. That and the recent thrift store/game shop offerings have been pretty 'blah' lately. Here's what I've picked up this month.

Heavy Rain
Dragon Age Origins
LA Noir
Dead Rising 2
Dragon Age was one of the games that Gamestop had for half off a couple weeks ago.
LA Noir and Dead Rising were a lucky find at a yard sale.
Heavy Rain was purchased new at K-Mart. They clearanced a lot of games about a month ago and then a week or so ago they decreased most of those games again, knocking an extra $5-10. I thought Heavy Rain was a pretty good pick-up for $10. If they still have anything left next time I go in I might pick up a couple other games. I love it when K-Mart clearances stuff.
I also pre-ordered Project X Zone and SMT: IV, but those won't be out for a while

Re: Games Acquired 2013
Dragon Age is pretty cool. The sequel was blah.
Re: Games Acquired 2013
Dragon Age in easily in my top 5 RPGs of all time. I like Dragon Age II as well, and while it isn't as good as the first I think that, especially with the additional campaigns/DLC stuff, the game is still very solid and well worth playing. It think it gets unfairly pegged as a bad game because it isn't as good as the first in many ways...but there are plenty of things that are just as good (and plenty that are better in DA2) than what was in DA1...despite the undeniable fact that some design elements took a hit.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Dragon Age is pretty cool.
