Ugh. Gag me with a wooden spoon (Call me Rufus, 'cause I just took you back to the 90's).

Hm. Good news or bad news first?

Frown: I have a huge meeting on Friday, so I took the day off to goof off. Just kidding. Kind of. I have a lot to prepare, and unfortunately I have to run a couple of errands that will empty the wallet.

Haircut = $40usd. Worth every penny.

Tux Rental for bro-in-laws wedding= $240usd.

Here's where I sound like a priss: This is why I own a Tuxedo. Your classic "James Bond" Oscar De la Renta, narrow lapel, single breasted Tuxedo.

Out of respect for the family, I'll dish out the $240 for an ugly as all get out Vera Wang Tuxedo with a straight tie and a shiny silver vest. I'm not kidding, a silver vest. The bridesmaids are wearing bright purple dresses "designed" by Jessica Simpson. And those dresses are made more for the fuller figured lady, and although my wife does have curves, she weighs a hundred pounds. She paid about $200usd for the dress, and an extra $50usd for alterations. After the wedding she'll donate it, as purple dresses (or silver vests for that fact) aren't exactly in style.
.

Looking back and my buddy suggested it when I got married that my group of friends who were standing up in my wedding should of just bought tux's then and then used them for the other 4 weddings and you could change the tie color per wedding, but for less than we have spent on renting tux's throughout the years we could each of bought one.

Oh and ranch is just gross.

We had an open bar for the rehearsal dinner, beer and wine for the reception. We also had a ton of hors d'oeuvres and "carving stations" at the reception, but I had a fever of over 103 on my wedding night (flu) so I didn't eat a thing.
Our venue was an extra 5k to have alcohol, then 10k minimum on drinks. So an extra 15k to have alcohol, and since we were paying about 22k for the rest of the wedding, well that kinda got the kibosh. Granted they also wanted 2k for a DJ and we did not get to choose the music. Sadly our hors d'oeuvres were rained out by a freak shower - so much wasted cheese...

Sounds like the people that ran the venue sucked. Was it in high demand?

Why aren't you people dipping your shitty pizza in bleu cheese dressing? That's the only dressing I ever use.

Ticked - I apparently pissed off one of the sales reps in a different department who sits next to my team earlier today. She just got up in arms about something and I honestly do not know what. She sulked for a bit and spoke loudly about me to some of the other sales teams.

Smiled - This afternoon, her Boss's Boss's Boss came in and she was gushing at him, I heard his voice, realized it was an old boss of mine who I have not seen in a couple years and hollered at him, he saw me, and left her in the middle of a sentence came over and we played catchup for a while. Turns out he is here to interview for some new direct reports and asked if I wanted a new job, where I would be over that sales rep. She heard this now I am walking on water...

This has made my day infinitely better.

If you ever visit Eastern NC, I'll take you to B's bbq, my treat. Makes Parker's taste like vomit.

We had beer and wine at the reception, but no full bar. We also provided our own DJ, who is a friend of mine so I think we saved a few K on that.

If you have to dip your pizza in salad dressing, you are either eating terrible pizza or live in a town that only has one stop sign.

Smile: Haircut and fitting finished. Also I found out that I won't have to wear a silver vest and black straight tie.

Frown: I'll have to wear a shiny purple vest with a shiny purple straight tie, which will match the stupid purple dresses. Ray Charles could have picked out a better ensemble (yes, a blind joke).

Frown: Tux rental is closer to $300. To buy the tux? $400. Guess who now owns two tuxedos? I'll be wearing that overpriced crap to the movie theater. I won't go into the theater, I'll just great everyone with a resounding "Welcome To The Greenville Grande!"

Shocked: Before the fitting, I told the clerk "I know you need to take measurements as policy dictates, but let me guess '16.5 neck, 34/35 sleeve, 42 long, 32x32'.

The neck and sleeve measurements were spot on, but not enough room in the shoulders, and wayyyy to much room around the waist, which brings me to my pants. Twenty-f--king-Eight inch waist. Now my wife has been saying it looks like I'm wearing poopy pants for a while, but 28? That is insane. That's what I wore in middle school.

Jacket was all wonky too. They don't even offer an athletic fit jacket, so a 42 long looked more like something fitted for John Goodman. 40 long it is, and like the shirt, tight on the shoulders, billowing near the stomach.

The finished tux better fit well or Men's Warehouse...Who am I kidding? They might get a nasty phone call at best.

Does that means that Parker's is better or worse depending on what you just ate?

I have been to B's on several occassions...the chicken is incredible, but evertyhing else is OK. Wilber's, on the other hand, has the best pulled pork east of the Mississippi.

Also, the food you get from Parker's catering is way better than the food you get in the restaurant.

And the guy running music was a total asshole. Remind me, if I ever get married, to ban that guy from the ceremony.
