Did some hunting while I was on vacation last week and came across a store selling a bunch of imports. The Chun Soft audio novels I mostly bought for the awesome box art, but I've always wanted an SFC copy of Sim City.

Maybe try it on some arcade compilations?jay_red wrote:I knew you would be interested in this controller lol. It is for certain a PS1 controller based on the manual description. The official name seems to be Madcatz Handheld Racing wheel, but there is very little information online it seems. I just remembered I have a disc only copy of gran turismo floating around somewhere, so I will try it out when I get home on that.

Either LiftOff or GoofOff works pretty well.fvgazi wrote:Teh Lurv wrote:Wow, nice find fvgazi!

<Mad Catz Racing Wheel 8025>
Anyway, I tried it today with gran turismo, and after an initial adjustment, it is a pretty precise way to race! One of the main hurdles to get over was the fact that the controls are switched from a normal controller ie: you steer with your right hand, rather than your left thumb, and the gas and brake are controlled with your left index finger. The wheel is very responsive, and as long as the game supports calibration, you can set the sensitivity to your liking. I would like the trigger to have a little more resistance to it, maybe I will open it up to see what kind of springs it uses. And a side note, the first gran turismo is cake to control compared to the later installments, I would go as far to say it has a very arcade like feel.
Edit: A really cool function of this wheel is that you can switch the mode so it shows up as either a Racing wheel, Dual shock, or digital pad, so in theory I should be able to use this on my ps3 with a converter for racing games. When in the dual shock mode, the wheel acts as the left analogue, and the triggers act as the right.
