Re: connection-speeds
I think I win. I pay around $65 for the most basic home phone and this bullshit.

If words could hurt, I would have yelled Verizon out of existence by now. They're the only game in town as far as home phone and internet go around here. Local DSL company leases their equipment, cable company won't bring their internet here, and broadband is only available to businesses and the school about 1000 yards down the road from my house. Verizon doesn't see the need to bring FIOS around here either.

I think we need to change the phrase to "moving as slow as Manassas" because not even molasses is that slow.StuntDouble wrote:I think I win. I pay around $65 for the most basic home phone and this bullshit.

I agree. I tried to change servers, but it kept going back to that one. And I actually have the highest speed they offer in my area right now.J T wrote:I think we need to change the phrase to "moving as slow as Manassas" because not even molasses is that slow.

Yeah, University connections are the best. But they can get bogged down by 1000s of people streaming video, and the general crappyness of how they set up the network.J T wrote:Things move a little faster when I'm on campus:J T wrote:
