Re: Nintendo 3DS
I started playing Fire Emblem recently too. My first run through the game and I'm playing on Lunatic - classic mode. I'm not messing around with this one, jumping right into the deep end
I'm on chapter 4 and the game has been awesome so far. It's my first Fire Emblem game as well. It's remarkably polished and it doesn't take players for granted like most video games too. It has tons of options for customizing your experience and you can skip ANY event in the game. It's the first rpg I've ever played that I feel actually values my time. If I have to start a level over for whatever reasons, I don't have to sit through the same five minutes of dialog and cut scenes again. If I am tired of seeing the same combat animations over and over again, I can skip them or just turn them off entirely. All of that, plus dual language options, represent a game made by people who actually GIVE A SHIT.
A rare thing these days.

hahaha. So, yeah, snap![]()
I got the 3DS XL model with Super Mario 3D Land pre-installed. The Mario game is so much fun! I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoy it. Also got Resident Evil Revelations, WWE All Stars, GTA Chinatown Wars, Chrono Trigger and Ocarina of Time, which the girlfriend hogs and turns into a scary monster whenever she plays it. Poor old Link is always getting shouted at
Edit: Fire Emblem is really hard BTW. I really suck at it
Nice choice of games by the way
haha, come on it's not that hard once you understand the game's mechanics. Basically forget what you learned from advance wars and every other console strategy game. Attacking first is NOT the best option. Set up formations to protect your weakest party members (watch out for those archers and wyvern riders) and take full advantage of the support buffs and attacks/defenses from other party members.
Mind you from time to time you WILL lose someone.
When I started the game I lost like 4 people the funniest being (not really important to be considered a spoiler, but I'm using a spoiler tag anyway. it's for something that happens in the first hour of the game anyway)

You had to buy one separately? What nonsense is this?ZeroAX wrote:Hey at least you guys get a charger with your console

Haha thanks. I'll be picking up more games in the near future, so will no doubt pick up plenty of popular multiplayer games at some point. Actually, I've just remembered I have Kid Icarus coming in the post soon.ZeroAX wrote:hahaha. Forgetting everything I've learned from previous strategy RPGs isn't hard. I haven't played a Strategy RPG since Shining Force III on the Saturn

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Apparently people not in North America don't get a charger included with their 3DS XL. I guess the theory is that most people already have a DSi and can just reuse the charger from that. Silly idea, in my opinion.Opa Opa wrote:You had to buy one separately? What nonsense is this?ZeroAX wrote:Hey at least you guys get a charger with your console

So the new Animal Crossing is on the horizon, and while I have never played one before, for some reason I am interested in this one. Anyone else plan on picking this one up?

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I played quite a bit of Animal Crossing on the original DS but I don't know that I liked it enough to get this new one. Maybe after it comes out and some gameplay is uploaded I'll be able to decide.
Older. Not wiser.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Finished Soul Hackers. Good stuff. Got tired of grinding. Played on easy mode at the end, haha. Grinding in Persona 4 Golden and Devil Survivor Overclocked were more fun. But overall a pretty enjoyable game.
Started Fire Emblem Awakening. I'm liking it so far. Love the way I customized my character. It is limited, but good enough.
Can't wait til SMTIV! Only a few weeks until I get my SMTIV 3DS LL

I was going to pick up Animal Crossing to try it out but I think I'll just save my money. Not sure if it'll really be my type of game.
About how long did it take you to finish? I'm around 14 hours into it. I really like it so far.ZenErik wrote:Finished Soul Hackers. Good stuff. Got tired of grinding.
