I'll take solace in the fact that you are completely wrong and that the vast majority of both critical and popular audiences disagree with this base claim and the ones you made to "support" it.
I said I was gonna get crapped on, lol. To each his own man, but I just can't stomach their writing style.

Nothing happens in the original Foundation trilogy. Nothing.

Chapter 1: Hey im a mayor and I wanna...
Chapter 18: Hey its been a zillion years, time for Seldon to give us another message. Seldon:"You should be at this point in time where I give you a message. See you in several hundred years"
Chapter 29: Well that sucks. As the new mayor of Planet H, I wanna..

Rinse, and repeat.

End of the story "So where is it? We have no idea." Jump to a couple of guys chatting about how they were able to hide the true Foundation, bwa, ha ha. We're geniuses.

I could go on forever. Comic book movies aren't intended to mirror the comic they are based on.
But again, these are all minor gripes. The changing of The Mandarin was more than a minor complaint like "That's not Joker's origin". It would be more like "Joker is a whimpering pussy that can't even attack Batman." Even though Joker's origin was changed, he was still the Joker. He still was a threat to Batman, and remained his arch-nemesis. Not the case with the Mandarin, now is it?

You guys are acting like I'm upset about a simple change in the character. The entire freaking character is an entirely different character. And he's a MAJOR character in the Iron Man mythos.
Well I plan on watching the movie, but I kind of agree.. It sounds like a good twist but to do this to an arch enemy is somewhat of an insult.. I didn't mind the Bane twist, because I never considered him a major Batman enemy anyways..

He was the first villain to "break" Batman in more ways than one, and is on the cover of one of the most Batman covers ever.

I'm not an expert by any means on the Batman mythos, but I'm pretty sure Bane is/was a big deal.

JUNO

Cody is an original. Like her writing or hate it, no one writes quite like her.

Her movies aren't my cup of tea, at all, but damned if she doesn't have a je ne sais quoi to her films that makes me sit through them and respect her work. She goes against the grain, and still succeeds. I dig that.

Iron Man 3

It's not a knock-your-socks-off kind of movie, but I do think it's an excellent finish to the trilogy (if indeed they are going to take a break and not do any more for awhile) and I was totally satisfied with it. Now that I've actually seen it, I thought the Mandarin bit was great precisely because it subverts your expectations. Sure it's different, but within the context of the film's universe, it works marvelously and was just what the film needed (and judging by the audience reaction, I'm not the only one who thought that). I'd give it 4 stars out of 5. Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, be sure you sit through the credits 'cause the scene at the end is awesome.

EDIT: I thought it was cool that the audience had all ages in it. Kids, teenagers, people my age, people my mom's age and everything in between. If Stan Lee's goal was to make Marvel something everyone could enjoy, I'd say they've succeeded.

^Iron Man 4 already has the green light.

And as I noted before, the audience I saw it with loved the Mandarin thingy.

Watch the theatrical US trailer again, and you'll probably think "It's basically all there".

He was a big deal for one storyline because he broke Bruce Wayne, and that paved the way for Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael) to take over as Batman. Jean-Paul Valley then goes crazy and Bruce has to come out of retirement.

After that storyline, he really has been a B-list villain ever since, though.

Nonetheless, that was a stupid move and Bane should have been more than a blithering idiot like he was. But it's not like that would have saved that turd of a movie, anyways. At least Iron Man 3 was still good besides Mandarin getting ruined.

What are you talking about? Odd choice of accent aside, Dark Knight Rises did a great job with Bane. He was every bit the mad genius he should've been and I thought the way they connected him to the main villain was very well done and added a bit more depth to the character (and this is coming from a huge Batman fan, mind you). If you wanna complain about how Bane was in Batman And Robin, go right ahead, but Dark Knight Rises was a vast improvement in that regard.

I thought we were talking about Batman and Robin. That's the movie that completely misrepresented Bane.

Dark Knight Rises Bane wasn't a genius. He was a henchman/thug that was following orders.

Guy was a henchman. Say whatever you want about 'taking Gotham hostage' blah blah blah. He was following orders. He's no better than:

Except ol' Two Ton 21 is way more menacing, and productive.

Kinda-sort OT, but has anyone heard of a movie called Rat King? It's a Finnish movie that I heard about, from its mention in a Tribeca Film Festival article from last year IIRC.

I ask because I was wondering if any other English-speaking/reading individuals were interested in it. I don't see an American release in the near future, and I can't find any English subtitles for it, though I believe there are available subs in Swedish and Dutch.
