So as I understand it, most of the game's extra modes and features have to be paid for IN ADDITION to what you pay for the game?

Losing more respect for Capcom with every game they put out now it seems.

Yeah, but like I said in a previous post... The game itself only cost $10. Most of the add ons are only $1, and the most expensive one is $4. All the add ons add up to $8, for a grand total of $18. This is still great considering new games cost $50 or $60, and considering new NES games use to cost $50-70.

OK, so I found the easiest way to get past the '3 beam room' in Wily's first stage. I heard a few different ways to get through the room like using the Concrete Shot or my one friend told me he used the Rush Jet. I've tried both and couldn't get past it. But here's my way, I feel its the easiest.

First of all, I use the Rush Coil in the previous room to get up to the ladder, keep it equipped. As soon as you move up the ladder into the next room (with 3 beams) trigger the Rush Coil so it lands to the right of you and jump to reach the furthest left ladder before any of the beams start. It's actually easier to do, you have a little more then just enough time to do it.

Since you're already on the left ladder, climb up. Avoid the beam to get to the middle ladder segment (there's only one beam in the middle of the room). Once you get to the top of the middle ladder, use Rush Jet to get across to the top ladder (easier then jump, and no risk). In the next room, use the L. Trident to destroy the blocks and gain an E Tank.

Then, climb back down the ladder. Hand at the bottom of the ladder and wait to drop past the beam. Drop all the way down back into the 3 beam room and land on top of the top beam's housing thing (the one that's on the left, all the way at the top). Ignore the beams, use the Rush Jet to get across the the right most ladder (as you can see in the next two screens, this is the one you have to take to progress in the level). Have a nice day.

I've managed to get pretty good at the required timing for the Concrete shot version of the 3 beam room. Now I'm getting my ass handed to me in Wily Stage 2. You'll know the part when you get there.

Tried the demo, pretty much what I expected. Same old Mega Man. Admittedly, it WAS fun though. I just can't help thinking that it would have been cooler to see the first 8-bit release on the big three's download services be something new and creative instead of yet another Mega Man rehash. Something like Cave Story for example

But as I said, it WAS fun, but a very familiar, I've done this for what seems like a thousand times kind of fun.

Wow, this is a pretty lame MM game. The level designs are crap and this installment has some of the most boring enemies I've seen in the whole series. The music isn't too great either

Oh well, I wasn't expecting much anyway. Please Capcom, let Mega Man die. I mean literally. We all know Zero kills him anyway but they'll never make a MM game where that actually happens.

I haven't beaten it yet(as it's gotten kind of boring), but I did finish the eight main stages and I honestly can't remember a single tune. They just don't stay in your head like some of the music from the older games. Mega man 2 had such cooler looking enemies and the level designs were more balanced. With Mega Man 9 it's like they tried to make the levels as annoying as possible.

I don't think the Classic Mega Man series has anything left to offer the world quite honestly. Especially not if they're going to take a couple steps backwards now with each installment. I mean they took out the stuff from the later Mega Man games like slides and charged shots, and then went back to 8-bit graphics after games like Mega Man 7 and Mega Man and Bass went 16-bit. That's not even mentioning the 32-bit Mega Man 8. Plus, none of the gameplay improvements from the Mega Man X series are here either. I just can't think of a single reason why Capcom or Keiji Inafune should be proud of Mega Man 9. It's an uninspired, half-assed, copy and paste job of earlier Mega Man games. Except they got rid of the good stuff and through away any gameplay improvements those games had. There's no nostalgic value here either as playing Mega Man 9 just reminded me of how much better other Mega Man games were.

This is just sad and pathetic. I'll take Bionic Commando Rearmed over this and I haven't even played that yet.

Figured I'd let some of you who weren't killed off by that venomous little tirade know that my favorite video game reviewer on the Youtube, the Happy Video Game Nerd, posted a review last night for Mega Man 9. He normally reviews under appreciated old school games, but decided to take a crack at MM9.

Check out his other reviews too, he's a great reviewer. He's done reviews for games like Nightshade, Metal Storm, and Little Nemo for the NES, Wild Guns for the SNES, and Rocket Knight Adventures for the Genesis. He's a semi-parody/homage the AVGN, but it's mainly just a small part of his character. He's genuinely my fave reviewer on the 'tube.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

I played the demo which has only the concrete man stage and i found the music great. I don't have the full game since i only can find 4000 points card in my area and that sucks because right now the only game i am interested from XBLA is this. Also i listened to some other tracks in Youtube and i found some of them great too (galaxy man comes to mind).
