Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut
Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut
I was sort've interested in picking this up as I heard great things about the 360 version. But then I was reading about some quite serious performance issues. Anybody been playing this? How is it, and how serious are the issues I hear about?

Is there really? I'm sorry.
I didn't know there was one in that sub forum. Should've searched first I guess. >_>

Yeah the thread is here

There are a ton of threads on GFAQs but I've yet to really see anything conclusive. I've seen people calling out hardware issues, doing screenshot comparisons, framerate rage, games crashing, etc... I think the long and the short of it is that it's likely a game just as rough around the edges as the original, but many people didn't know just how rough the original game really was. Which to be fair is pretty rough, but it's by no means unplayable.
I played through the entirety of the PS3 version (Asian version) and it wasn't a broken game. It looked and played like shit if you consider the hardware it was designed for, but it was one of the most orgasmic gaming experiences I've had this gen. Many people will tell you the low production values are part of the charm.

Thanks.
I can live with some frame rate drops but I've heard of some audio cutting out which would drive me crazy. Any experience with that?

If there were audio drops I didn't notice them. I did read that too but I don't remember encountering anything like that so I really wasn't even sure what people were talking about. I feel like there was some glitchy gunshot effects going on in the action parts, but that's about all I remember being wonky on the audio side of things. No BGM cutting in or out.
