How could you hate Connery as a comedic badguy? But yeah it was terrible, but when my cousin got his DVD player back in 98, he had Westworld and The Avengers, so we watched both alot. I greatly enjoyed the old series, but like the Get Smart and The Prisoner remakes, they botched this one up good.Hobie-wan wrote:That was garbage and you know it.

They didn't even try. On the other hand, you've got to almost praise the guys who wrote THE NAKED GUN for staying true to POLICE SQUAD. The first two NG movies still make me laugh every time.fastbilly1 wrote:Get Smart

It has Uma Thurman in a leather catsuit. What more do you want from your cinema?Hobie-wan wrote:That was garbage and you know it.

The worst part about Get Smart is that Buck Henry and Mel Brooks WANTED to write it, but the production company declined. Later in shooting they brought Brooks in and he got to make a few changes - like adding in the Shoe Phone part and giving Bernie Kopell a cameo.Luke wrote:They didn't even try. I was expecting something else, but at best, it had its moments.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I think Marvel's really the only company pushing out "expected" superhero movies. WB tends to go a different way, darker if anything, and X-men First Class and the upcoming Wolverine seem fairly unconventional as well. I like every type though, as long as it's good, but I'm kind of happy the realistic/gritty batman trilogy is over. I loved Batman Begins, but after that I felt the grounded world was a limiting factor more than anything. Especially coupled with the fact that Nolan's movies tend to be about events, not characters, while at the same time being overly blunt with the point he's trying to make ("You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain").

An attractive woman in a catsuit would be a start.MrPopo wrote:It has Uma Thurman in a leather catsuit. What more do you want from your cinema?Hobie-wan wrote:That was garbage and you know it.
TYLER PERRY'S DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN
How he makes his dramas funnier than his comedies is astonishing. It may be wrong in the eyes of some to laugh at watching a husband beating his wife and dragging her around the house by her weave, but those eyes haven't seen it done with TP flair.

Wow. I liked it.

It's quite good, isn't it? It's one of my favorite John Carpenter films.REPO Man wrote:Wow. I liked it.
