Hey Jinx, no sweat.
I'm using a retail copy of V.2 and it's giving me no troubles. I have no idea why it's being so finnicky, it's been fine for myself too. It's getting close to dinner for us too.
We can try again, evidently --- was Noise's character, which got changed to some weird lvl 200 character. Needless to say, he's probably equally as frustrated.
Sometime this weekend maybe?

yeah I'm using retail V2 as well. No idea. Sigh.
I'm pretty upset that 19 hours in I'll have to start a new character.

I'd be willing to give it a shot.
I've only ever played BB but I get 15 hrs of free dialup (I have dsl) and have gotten it working on my DC, so...
All I'd have to do is hunt down an iso haha

Yeah, I'm up for it if everybody else is. I'll keep an eye on this thread for when you guys get back on.
Also, I've been having to use a "cracked" copy since I switched to version 2. When I connect with my retail copy, I just get caught in the burst and I never fully connect. Although the "bursting" sound stops and the lobby music plays, the screen never goes away. I'm not sure what I'm missing...
Also, I recently read somewhere about backing up characters from your VMU, but I'm not sure where and I don't know if it actually works. I may do a bit more research this weekend, as I'd hate to have to start all over if mine gets corrupted.

Re: Racketboy PSO Meet-up (All Versions)
This is a common glitch only found on the DC version, something to do with the disc. Here is the work around:noiseredux wrote:--- is me apparently. My save got fucked up when I got disconnected and yeah. Now I lost my character. I used to be an awesome lvl 19 hucast named noiseredux. Now I'm a big fat lvl 200 guy named ---.jinx wrote: Said "--- is joining game" and froze up.
"Like all PSO Ver.2 CD-R copies, this disc will freeze when loading player data outside of Pioneer 2. To prevent the freezing problem, stay on Pioneer 2 until all players have joined, and use passwords or quests to prevent new players from joining while you are not on Pioneer 2. The freezing problem also prevents the offline quests and Challenge mode from working properly, so a GD-ROM copy is recommended for those activities."
Basically it is caused when someone tried to join a game when you guys are already in a quest or something, if you want to get someone in the game, everyone needs to teleport back to poineer. There is also a glitch you can use to copy your character save to another VMU (it takes a few minutes, but it worth it if this happens to you) I cant remember the exact process, but you can find a video on youtube.
