Together RPG - Schedule & Discussion
Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for SRPG
We should great a separate thread for each game as we play through a la Together Retro and keep this thread for the decisions on what to do for the calendar.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Sounds like a good plan.Stark wrote:We should great a separate thread for each game as we play through a la Together Retro and keep this thread for the decisions on what to do for the calendar.

Pool of Radiance, you will not be forgotten.

I voted for Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre (they're on the Saturn also, bt-dubz) but looks like they're out. I just finished Shining Force II a month or two ago, too.... Oh well.

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for JRPG
Our first game up is a strategy rpg favorite fan favorite with a big following and sequel to last year's TR game - Shining Force 2. This game is a bit shorter than others and should easily be beatable in 2 months.
Next is JRPGs! Get your votes in by Wednesday evening!
I am trying to create a new poll and the forums doesn't like me doing it. Listing items multiple times. I will create a new thread to vote

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for JRPG
(just a random thought I had while sitting on the can)
After we finish the JRPGs, Action RPGs, WRPGs, and strategy RPGs, would anyone else be interested in playing a roguelike? Or am I the only one into those games? Seems like a pretty major subcategory most folks ignore. I would wager most RPG gamers haven't ever tried one so it might be worth a spin.

I'm all in for a RogueLike.BoneSnapDeez wrote:(just a random thought I had while sitting on the can)

I still play nethack when I'm bored at work.
EDIT:
Delver has been my go-to "I'm bored, what's on my phone?" game.

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for JRPG
I think it can fall under the other categories. It could probably depending on the game, fall under anything but a strategy rpg. But I wouldnt necessarily be against this if others wanted a specific sub genre like that. I tried to use the broad ones in order to keep things a bit fresh.BoneSnapDeez wrote:(just a random thought I had while sitting on the can)

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for JRPG
I'd say there are enough rogue-likes out there, and enough differences between they and other RPG sub-genres to warrant a separate vote. I've really wanted to play Shiren Gaiden on the DC and Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon on the Saturn. Hopefully they'd make the cut. I'd be up for a rogue-like vote, though.
